I've been asking around all over the place if anyone has experience with Mag-Spark adapters for the Ruger Old Army

As I wrote. I've been trying to find out more info on Mag-Spark adapters. They allow you to use 209 Shotgun primers in place of caps. It seems like a neat thing but if it was so neat then why haven't I seen them all over the place? They're not cheap but if they work I think it would be...

I'd like to re-barrel a ROA with a Bobby Hoyt Gain twist barrel

As the title said. I'd like to re-barrel one of my already customized Ruger Old Army revolvers with a Bobby Hoyt Progressive or gain twist barrel. Hopefully, an octagon profile. The issue is I can't seem to find anyone to do it. Bobby Hoyt is impossible to get in contact with and so is Charlie...

Hey Mike! Need the Goon's magic on one of your creations.

I'm not sure you remember me but I sent you a few guns some years back to work your magic on and you did so with great success. I sent you an email through your web page but I guess you haven't gotten to it yet. I'm having fits getting the 1858 Remington Uberti back together after having it...

So I went out with a 5 new guns and which one do you think didn't work?

So I ended up with 5 new guns and decided to go out today and give them a spin. They're all 22 WMR or more commonly known as 22 magnums, 1 rifle, and 4 handguns. 1. Savage A22 Pro Magnum Varmint 2. Rock Island Arsenal XT 22 Magnum Pro 3. Smith & Wesson 648-2 Stainless 4. Ruger Single Nine 5...

Old Ruger Old Army vs Later Ruger Old Army

I have been fortunate enough to have several Ruger Old Army Revolvers. I have just acquired a very low 4-digit serial number 7-1/2" first year production. I have to say, in my opinion, it is superior in almost every way in fit and finish, to my very late production 145-XXXX serial number 5-1/2"...

    Shotgun adapters?

I'm not a gunsmith, metallurgist or scientist and maybe I'm a complete idiot with too much Internet expertise but I'm not buying anything like this made of aluminum. Perhaps that's why everyone else is sold out and these folks are in stock.

    Shotgun adapters?

Are you sure they're made from aluminum? I saw this on the Short Lane sight Made from Alloy steel 4140 & CNC machined for precision. I would assume that Chaszel makes theirs out of comparable material. I can't imagine firing any modern centerfire cartridge in an aluminum anything. Of course...

    Shotgun adapters?

I'm really intrigued by it for some reason. I'm reasonably sure that I'll spend some time trying to get it to shoot the way I want and then relegate it to amusement section of the gun room.

    Shotgun adapters?

Agreed...and cheap to play with too. I have all I need to reload and cast 45lc on hand. It will literally cost me nothing. It'll also take up all kinds of time twiddling with it to get it to do what I want. Now if they can only get some in stock...I just put myself on the wait/notify list.

    Shotgun adapters?

Like I said, I'm interested in trying a couple of 11" 45lc's in my CZ 20" coach 12ga double. I'm going to put a skinner ghost ring front and rear that'll be adjustable for elevation. From what I've read, I may be able to regulate the barrels by witness marking them and rotating them about. It's...

    Shotgun adapters?

Yeah well, that's probably not what's available to me even if I could afford it.

    Shotgun adapters?

Who made yours and did do you have any problem with the point of impact changing when you remove and replace the inserts?

Well...that about sums it up. Thanks.

    Shotgun adapters?

I've never heard of these things before, inserts that slide into your break open shotgun that allows you to shoot various other calibers from 22lr, 357 mag, 45lc, 45/70 410 to 20ga, just about anything really. They come in lengths from a couple of inches to 18. Now I have to admit it sounds...

Annealing machine for ultra short cases?

Jmorris, are yours for sale or are you just teasing me again?

Annealing machine for ultra short cases?

Anyone know of an annealing machine that would work for super short cases? I have to case form a bunch of 45 ACP cases into 38/45 Clerke bottleneck cases. For those you unfamiliar with this dinosaur of a cartridge, it's 45 acp case necked down to hold .356/.357 bullets. There are 4 form dies to...

Decided to do something silly-just because I could 1911 in 380 acp

A lot of this is going to depend on how angled and smooth I can make the firing pin stop. This is where the slide contacts the hammer and the smoother it is, the easier the slide can return.

Decided to do something silly-just because I could 1911 in 380 acp

Update: Just got a call from the barrel maker to say the barrel is done and ready to ship. I should have it shortly. The rest of the pieces/parts are ready to go so I should know pretty quickly if this is going to work or just be a nightmare.

Decided to do something silly-just because I could 1911 in 380 acp

I just got my springs from Wolff. I'm still waiting for the barrel so in the mean time I'm super polishing everything and angling up the firing pin stop. I ordered the barrel with a Clark/Para ramp. It's very unlikely that I'll have to polish the ramp coming from this barrel maker. I'll let...

Decided to do something silly-just because I could 1911 in 380 acp

I just ordered some extra light Wolff return springs. They have a set that includes a 5,6,7,8 and 9 pound springs. I'm not sure a 5 pound spring will return a slide.
