    Concealment FAIL

Is that assault with a deadly weapon? :)

What would you do in this situation? Woman murdered in broad daylight

What would I do?? RUN LIKE HELL (while probably sh*tting myself the whole way)! If I just saw a woman get murdered and her murderer knows it? And he has also seen my car and perhaps license plate, and therefore could quite easily find out where I live? Hell, I might consider plastic surgery too.

    Safety Glasses?

Yes. That brass flies everywhere, and once I had one hit the glasses...if I hadn't been wearing them, it likely would've hit me right in the eyebrow...and heaven help me if if it'd then dropped behind my (prescription) glasses. Ow.

Crown Vic Police Interceptor as a deterent to crime?

Do they take the spotlights off when they sell them? I always assumed so, but I saw one on the highway the other day that obviously wasn't a cop car as it looked like ****e...and it had the light. Or maybe the person just put on one for the hell of it (they should keep their car a bit nicer if...

    Range costs

What michiganfan said. I think at mine it's $11 for half an hour and $16 for an hour...and that's among the cheapest in my area. Also, around here I'd skip an outdoor range simply because I don't see a point in shivering my way through a shooting session for a large portion of the year...

Does dropping off a dog help HSUS?

If you don't take it to a shelter...please don't give it up for free. That is how too many animals end up in testing laboratories or with abusive people (I could tell you a really sick story I read years ago about just such a thing--it was so bad it's stuck with me that long--but, yeah). Very...

    Shooting an unarmed man?

If someone attacks me, I'm going to assume they intend great bodily harm...or they wouldn't be attacking me. A guy's not going to to come to you, me, or any one of us wanting to give us a black eye and leave (and for those of us who wear glasses, a fist to the eye could be a hell of a lot more...

    Liability of self defense shooting

And never get a loan again... And, I'm not sure if that's the sort of bankruptcy that wouldn't make me lose my job, or not. On one hand, it's not like it's because you maxed out your credit cards shopping. On the other hand, it's because you shot somebody...

    Liability of self defense shooting

Is there a list of those states somewhere? I always worry about this. I'd sorta rather be dead than in debt up to my eyeballs for the rest of my life, or spending my life in prison. I'm quite concerned with the QUALITY of my life as much as the QUANTITY. I'd rather be dead and oblivious than...

    CCW When would you draw???

Holy sh*t. No wonder so many people hesitate to pull the trigger.

    CCW When would you draw???

I've wondered this too...as it seems to have been implied in some articles I've read that if pulling a gun and saying "get away from me" if feeling threatened is not kosher--that is, if you don't actually need to shoot him at the moment, you shouldn't touch the gun. I'd far rather be able to...

    What about in the shower?

(I almost made the title "what do you do in the shower?" but I thought that might invite too many interesting stories :) ) Anyway. Perhaps this is a dumb question, and it's likely I've seen Psycho a few too many times, but I thought of this today in the shower (as I sometimes do). I just...

Did something dumb: got pulled over with CCW

Wow, scary. I admit that if it were me, I'd have my hand on the gun as soon as the dude started walking up to my car (and once I got done screaming for him to get the f*ck away from me and my car, call the police for his threatening behavior)...people get killed that way for sure, and IMO...

Minimizing your blind spot in your car

I'll have to try this....usually I don't mind just turning my head, but when traffic is tight and I"m trying to merge, nothing causes a heart attack faster than checking to make sure the car I'm trying to merge in front of is going to let me in rather than rear-end me....and then turn back...

    .22 revolvers similar to S&W 317

Is the size not too much bigger than the J? I love the Walther P22 but I think I want the reliability of a revolver. Also, I am pretty sure I want a 3" barrel. The .22 is going to be my learning/practice gun, and then I'll save up for something bigger for defense later, but while I'm...

    .22 revolvers similar to S&W 317

The only .22 revolver I've tried out thus far is the S&W 317. I like it okay but obviously would prefer not to make a decision based on the first gun I try. I like the size of it fine for my hands; for DA I find it's easier to use the crease of my finger to pull the trigger which requires me...

Lack of overtime = less firearms purchases?

I don't work overtime and haven't had hours cut, but BS like my insurance company rejecting some doctor bills and "everyday" stuff like the cat being due at the vet and the microwave dying and needing to be replaced have pretty much put my plans to take a CCW class and buy my first gun on...

    What would you do?

From the UseOfForce site: Does the Preclusion standard mean that an ultimatum like “give me your money or I’ll hurt you” requires you to, well, give him your money? Unless you honestly believe that he may hurt you anyway, yes. The law values “life and limb” above property. Or you can refuse...

Question For Those Who CAN Carry But Choose Not To

I think I'd probably be able to pull the trigger in a heated moment where my life or health were in danger...what I am not sure of is how I would feel afterward. The next day if I woke up and it really hit me that I had killed a person....regardless of how bad that person was...I might feel...

    Ice on the car gun.....help?

Seconded...because aren't guns not allowed on college campuses, period (therefore, if you're parking on-campus, you're still breaking the rules anyway)? Or am I wrong on this? (Or as someone once told me in reference to carrying in church--"If I feel I need to protect myself, I'll have my...
