Wolf had to hold a line and state that they did not have a spring for the 1906 but that the kit was such a low cost it was worth the try.
Numerich after some prodding on the phone found a replacement part number. I placed an order here.

i found a different m1 and now own it.
it is a cmp inland in very good shape. i purchased it from DBR and would recommend him to anyone. after my ffl, shipping, and purchasing a magazine i paid much less than that in my original post.
thanks everyone.
If someone faked this rifle it was done forty years ago as this is the first time it has been thought about since the 60's!
How do I check the caliber? Only tools I have access to are dial calipers.
i ran a box of ammo through it and it worked great. i don't remember if it has the mag safety or not. right now the recoil spring is broken. i could only find one at a place that takes phone orders so i never get around to getting one purchased.
thanks for the information.
thanks for the info.
i had looked for a grip at one time and given up. thanks for the link.
it is also nice to know what the insurance value is as i have no intention of selling.
**this is not a baby browning. it is a browning 1906. but i still would like to know what the markings mean and what the history of it might be.**
can anyone tell me about the history of this particular handgun:
This is genuine. It is a carry back and hasn't seen the light of day in forty years. Also found is a 9mm radom and fn baby browning along with a sportsterized mauser.
What is "gunboard"?
