I'm currently running an M&P15 carbine w/ mid-length Troy rail
and I'd like to move to a 10.x" barrel.
I'm sure there have been plenty of posts on this very subject
but my internet search time is limited nowadays.
What brands are great, good, and what should I avoid?
I hear Noveske and...
So I finally got bit by the AK bug. I didn't go big but
I don't think I went too cheap either. I was initially looking
at the Romy WASR-10/63's but after doing a lot of research
I decided to forgo the crap shoot of picking a good one and
went with a beautiful Polish AKMS Underfolder I found...
OK, so I decided to go with this one:
Removing the stock front sight post left two non-parkerized scars (I believe that is parkerizing, correct me if I'm wrong) which wouldn't be covered up with the VLTOR gas block.
Anyway, there's a back order on this part but I'll be glad I ordered...
OK, so I finally removed the hand guards, front sight post (PITA), and muzzle break. I'm ready to install a rifle length quad rail on my carbine but need to shop for a low profile gas block first.
From what I can tell, I can get one at almost any price range. Question - Is this one of those...
Thanks highorder,
How about a good leather m1907 sling?
I've heard of Turner slings but I'm guessing they can get expensive.
From what I've read online, I should stay away from the ones with
brass hardware as they are prone to bending.
Well, I took my time with it and it turned out great. I'm glad I didn't
just whip out the drill and go to work on it right away.
Now, off to find a USGI sling for this bad boy.
Any pointers on picking a sling?
OK, I have the studs and swivels.
Now I'm hesitant to start drilling. I want to do this right the first time.
I've searched around on the Internet but haven't found a good step
by step article on how to do this properly.
Is there anything I can do to insure that my holes are drilled...
Hi, sorry if this question is too specific for this forum
but I didn't want to join a 10/22 forum without tapping
into your expertise first.
Anyway, I just got a Ruger 10/22 Carbine and I'm looking
to put a 1.25" USGI sling on it. I believe the swivels I want
are here
but I want to be...
OK, so I have decided to scrap the cheap plastic hand guards
and move up to a 1 piece rifle length free float quad rail for my
AR-15 carbine.
I have decided to go with the Yankee Hill Diamond Forearm (YHM-9635-DX).
For those of you who have done this yourselves, you know that the stock...
This is getting good. You have given me a lot to
think about. I'm also wondering about the legalities.
If I did shoot off a few rounds in a self defense situation
and one hit an innocent, would having full metals make
me more liable in court or would it matter?
I was at the gun shop the other day and was
talking to the guy behind the counter. I asked him
what he was carrying and he pulled out his 1911 loaded
with FMJ's.
I have always thought that it was a bad idea to
use those for self defense as they can overpenetrate.
It got me thinking...
I'm thinking of learning to reload and based on my research so far,
I should probably start out with something basic like a single stage
press. I started looking online and stumbled upon the Lee Challenger
Single Stage Press Anniversary Kit.
I found it here for around $90...
Can someone recommend a good gun safe for the night stand?
I'm looking for something that will fit a Springfield XD-45 Tactical (5" barrel)
and an extra mag. I'd like to keep it around $70-$80 if possible and I want
one that has the finger pads to open it, not a key.
Also, if someone...
I'm kind of new to tac lights and lasers but I found
a laser/light combo that mounts to a universal rail
and it was under $100. It seems to do the job. the
laser points where I point the gun and the light is
bright enough for me to see pretty well in the dark.
But I noticed that there...
If you could recommend one book that will teach
me the fundamentals of gunsmithing, which book
would it be?
If not a book, what other resources can you point me to?
I'm guessing I will need some tools and a few cheap, used
guns to break while learning.
This seems to be a lost art in...
I'm really starting to like the M&P's. In fact, I
just bought the M&P 9mm Compact. I've found
a few gunsmiths online that do some real nice
custom work on M&P's and I wanted to see some
more examples of it.
If you have any pics of your M&P with night sights
or anything not stock, please...
I just purchased an M&P 9c and would like to have
some night sights installed. Specifically these:
http://www.opticsplanet.net/trijicon-novak-smith-and-wesson-m-p-three-dot-front-and-rear-night-sight.html
I called S&W and they quoted me at $230.
That is absolutely outrageous!
I asked...
Has anyone had any experience with MMC night sights?
I'm looking for some night sights for my m&p9c and right
now my choices are Trijicon, Meprolight, and now MMC.
They are pretty affordable and offer a lifetime guarantee.
Check them out and let me know if you think they are a
good buy...
The company name is Brass Kings.
They have been at the two shows I've been to in Saronville, OH.
The ammo comes in zip lock bags with an orange card that identifies
the type and ammount of ammo. I believe they are located in Michigan.
Let me say this - I personally only bought one bag from...
