Local hunting accident. This needs to be shared

There is no way a person can mistake a human for a deer. It's more than likley the case of some idiot shooting someone, or shooting at to scare, and it ending up badly. no one just shoots at moving trees and expects to kill a deer... not buying it. :banghead:

    gun value question

I have a winchester 94/22 that's a more recent model... I think it was the late 80's. the gun is in about 95% condition, just a couple small marks on the stock. What's an approximate value for this gun? I see some on gun trader that the asking price is 750-800, but this doesn't mean they're...

Cutting a stock down for the kids

I've found that these wood remington ADL stocks can be picked up pretty cheap. I'm going to cut them in 1" increments, as I have 4 kids (pray for me :D), and can go back and forth with the stocks according to which one of my kids is shooting it.

Cutting a stock down for the kids

I'm building up a rifle for my boys. It's a short action remington 700. I bought a couple old stocks to cut down, but I have a question. Currently, both stocks have a thin plastic but plate. I'm going to put a good recoil pad on the rifle after I cut it down. The wood is cut (under the...

TX Hogs, the Population Grows, but Remains @ 2 Million+

One sow can have 3 litters a year and it's not uncommon to have 9-10 pigs. I'd say it's entirely possible their population is doubling. Not to mention sows can have a litter before their first birthday. It's a good thing some people are completely ruthless when it comes to killing them

    Doe estrus ?

I've always thought about shooting a doe that was in heat, and drawing the urine out with a syringe.

    Doe estrus ?

I don't think it works. I've used it in an area absolutely full of bucks and had no real increase in activity. I don't think it really hurts anything. Maybe if you get the random deer that finds it interesting it will help. If you're hunting in an area With high doe numbers it will be even...

If you were hunting big game & came across a coyote..

If they're furry, that means they matter more. :).

If you were hunting big game & came across a coyote..

We don't leave them to rot...we usually dig a hole with a backhoe and bury them....

If you were hunting big game & came across a coyote..

I rarely shoot coyotes. Mainly because the Ranch workers kill several hundred a year with traps and snares, and whatever other means they can come up with. it's all out war against coyotes where I'm at.

    locked up deer video

thanks everyone. The entire idea when you find deer like this is to get them apart as fast as you possibly can... the other deer that was a 3 year old 12 point was certainly stressed out.. flipping over the dead buck at times, and apparently had broken the other deer's neck at some point. I'm...
