    ptx Powder Measure Stop?

Hello Peter, did the Hornady PTX powder measure stop fit on the RCBS? I have the case activated linkage kit and want to get the stop for my Uniflow as well.

Best model 1911 for the dollar

I completely agree with Schmakey response (except withholding the comment on Kimbers-as I don't like badmouthing other manufacturers.) I would add Les Baer to the "Getting Fancy" to "Obscene" Categories. When I was looking for a 1911 in the same price range I had it narrowed down to either...

I just committed to buy my first ever auto

Only problem I see with 10mm besides recoil is ammo availability. Generally you can't walk into a Wally-World and get ammo. Given the cost & availability, reloading is the best way to go.

Finally got my bench set up and equipment mounted, so figured I would post a couple updated pics.

    S&W 4006 and 5906 compatible

Cannot be done. Some like caliber S&W slides can be interchanged, but not different calibers.

Well the Mr's and I started a basement refinishing project last summer, and are still slowly working on it--no bank financing. Added on an additional bedroom, plan on an addition 1/2 bath, and or hobby room. Still going to be a work in progress for awhile, but this weekend with the help of my...

    New grips for a 1911

    Another suggestion is Sarge's Grips.

4506 grips on 645/745; will this work?

The 645 and 745 are first Gen. S&W's and use screws to mount the grips. the 4506 grips are for 3rd Gens. and snap in and use grip pin. So they are not interchangeable.

    Help me decide...

What Airburst said: "S&W 5906, 5903, 659. Any of the S&W stainless autoloaders would do you well."

What Auto do you use for Home Defense and why???

I have a S&W 5906 with Crimson Trace Lasergrips. I have the gun for home-defense as it has always been a reliable functioning firearm, shoots true to POA, with the lasergrips I can easily identify where I am aiming with 2 young kids in the house, and I like the ability of the DA/SA trigger pull.

    S&w 5906

I think the 5906 or even a 5903 would be a good choice, as they are quality weapons, cheaper to shoot than the 45 series S&W's, and have the option of adding Crimson Trace Lasergrips. Here is a pic of my HD gun.

    Crimson Trace won't fit?

I had a lot of difficulty installing the LG359 Lasergrips on my S&W 5906. I think the material of the grips needs to be worked a little to get them to fit flush with the frame, I very frustrating, but after several attempts I finally got mine to fit properly. Got the pleasure of doing it...

Your most satisfying gun purchase of 2009?

Hard too choose. Picked up a NIB S&W 5906, a S&W 2206 for my son, and newest acquired is a NIB S&W 4566TSW. Like the 4" stainless steel S&W's

9mm 147 Grain: Yes or No?

I use standard pressure 124gr Remington Golden Sabers. The expansion is amazing. I'm sure there are probably some better out there, but I really do like the Golden Sabers.

    Bought a S&W 2206 today, feed problems....

I just picked up a 4.5" 2206 for my son this summer, and tried a few different brands in it to make sure it functions fine. Had problems with several: Remington 333 bulk, Winchester Xpert bulk, had several issues like you mentioned. Remington Thunderbolts did ok, but still weren't great...

    S&W PC945 Accuracy

I am not a fan of the 3" - 3.5" barrels on guns for target shooting. Prefer the 4"-5". The 3" - 3.5" barrels are good for ccw's, but the short sight radius, I find difficult to keep close groups for target practice--but then again, I am not a great shooter.

New 1911 fan needs help for ccw.

The 1911 Forum http://forums.1911forum.com/has a lot of great people and wealth of knowledge in relation to carry these full size autos. Think the most common suggestions are to: 1: Get a good gun belt. 2: Find a quality holster, such as: Milt Sparks VM II. Hope this is somewhat helpful.

    Is the 357 fading away?

I'm a younger guy, 29, but with arthritis I prefer the ease of an autoloader on my arthritic wrists compared to the kick of a .357 magnum. I've shot my father's S&W 686 and love the gun, it shoots extremely accurate. I know it is not true of every revolver, but even compared to my S&W 5906 the...
