Who has actually used .243 Win for deer

I have killed a Cow Elk, one Antelope, 3 Mule Deer, more than a dozen Coues Whitetail and more than a dozen Javelina with my 243 ( I live in Arizona). All were one shot kills except the Elk (two shots) and I would not reccomend a 243 for Elk. I use handloads that consist of 43.5 grains of IMR...

    243 WIN for elk?

I have taken several Elk (cows and bulls) with the following calibers 243, 30-06, 270 WSM and 300 WSM. The first cow was with a 243. The shot was about 100 yds. I fired the first shot and the cow appeared as if it had not been hit. I fired a second and the cow dropped in it's tracks. Upon...

    243 and powders?

43.5 grains of IMR 4350 with a Sierra 85 gr HPBT. No need for a second shot on deer and antelope sized game. Try it, you will be pleased.

    44 Bullet Diameter

Awesome! I was beginning to wander if they were only for muzzleloaders or somethong like that. I use a lot of Unique, AA #5, and I also have some W296. Thanks!

    44 Bullet Diameter

I was recently given two boxes of Hornady 240 gr HP/XTP and one box of Hornady 200 gr HP/XTP. All of these have a bullet dia of .430". I have several reloading manuals (none of which are Hornady) and they all list a bullet dia of .429 for 44 cal jacketed bullets. I do see lead SWC's in .430"...

    P226 22lr conversion kit

Newbie to the site. Lots of great information! Has anyone had any experience with the Sig 226 conversion kit from 40 cal to 22lr? Just visited the Sig website and it looks pretty cool.

    Air Pellet Pistols

Sad but true comment krs. However, I will say it is fun to shoot and amazingly accurate. Being able to shoot it at home in my shop or garage is a huge benefit for me. I would need to drive a minimum of 15 or so miles to shoot even a 22. So being able to shoot this at home is a lot of cheap fun.

    Air Pellet Pistols

just curious. I've ordered a 2300s that is supposed to arrive tomorrow and I am anxious to shoot it. I will be able to shoot it indoors in my shop and I can't wait. I'm new to the website but I haven't seen much on air guns.

    WOLF 223 Brass

Thanks for the info RC. After closer inspection several of the necks are already split and they are steel. So in the trash they go. Darn, I thought I was on to some free brass. Does that hold true for any steel, for example 9mm?

How do you move a big gun safe into a house?

Moving big safe in house This method works. You get the safe where you've got it in your photo ready to enter the door. Now go to the hardware store and buy either some wood dowels or PVC pipe(cheaper). You need at least 1 inch OD and up to 2 inch OD will work. You need at least 8 to 10...
