So the only difference between the 3 generations, is the checkering/finger groves OR is there more on the inside? I'm new to the Glock & XD platform. I've always been a die hard 1911 man. Go easy on me with all of my questions.

I just use an Aimpoint on my 590A1. A bit pricey, but very fast with buckshot and fairly accurate with slugs.
