thanks for all the replies, sorry i was kind of vague in my original post. I guess i'm more or less looking for an m4 type rifle...i'm just not interested in all the gadgets and stuff hanging off them...probably just going to mount a scope on it. I just don't want to get burned...don't want to...
Alright, I think I'm finally going to get an AR. I know there is probably a million threads on this but I didn't find exactly what I was looking for in my search. I really don't know where to start. I'm looking for a "run of the mill" Ar, nothing real fancy and it doesn't have to be nit on a...
sorry I left out my intentions... I want a decent shooting piece of history. I'm hoping for a WWII receiver with a decent barrel...not looking for a Collector's piece, just a good rifle. Not too worried about the stock.
One more question...from what i can find post WWII serial numbers...
I'll be taking a trip to the CMP store soon to buy my first Garand. What do I need to be looking for? I've heard about muzzle wear, but where can I find a muzzle gauge and are there any other gauges or tools that would help?
Thanks for all your replies, I know a lot of y'all mentioned Spyderco but for some reason I just don't like them I'm not sure why. I think I'm kind of leaning towards a Benchmade mini Griptilian. I need to go handle a few and see what fits. Thanks again.
I've carried a knife most of my life (since about age 13) and my preference has changed a good bit over the years. My last two knives have been Gerber 3" liner lock folders (one the PR and the other an AR). I'm looking for something similar but better. I like a 3" blade, one handed opening and...
I have an old (72 yr old) Remington Model 341 .22. I've been getting some FTF and from what I can gather it seems to be a broken firing pin. I've looked in all the places I know to look, so I'm kind of asking this in desperation. Does anyone know 1- where i could maybe find a replacement or...
I'm looking for a set of rubber grips that will fit a H&R Model 904. I was hoping to find something that would work, even if it was from a different make/model. Any suggestions?
Wow, gone for about 8 hrs (have to work to buy guns) I didn't expect so many responses.
Ok let's see:
No I don't reload...yet... soon hopefully
I'm really not looking to buy an AR type rifle I would rather something with wood
I know a .30-30 fits but not what really what I'm looking...
I'm back and forth about a Marlin 1894c .357 and a Mini 14 .223 for an all purpose carbine. (for lack of a better word) A survival carbine. I have two .357 revolvers and a .30-06 so i'm looking for something in the middle. Any suggestions?
The larger one is not a .30-06, "7.9x57mm is commonly referred to as 8mm, as in 8mm mauser" after googling it i think that's it.
It's been a little while but the smaller one doesn't look like a .223 different profile and it seems smaller, but I may be wrong.
A buddy of mine gave me a box of misc. stuff a buddy gave him, and in it there was a few rounds of various calibers. Two of them I don't know what they are and the stamps on the bottoms don't help much. I was hoping somebody could help me identify them.
1- seems to be in the .30 area, it's 3...
I didn't think it was really practical. It's just that I love my Mark III and I thought it would be a neat idea.
"Now I'm curious to know what got you onto that train of thought ... Because 22LR and .357 are both rimmed? Hardcore love for the layout/ergonomics of the Rugers?"
Yeah...
If this has been asked before I apologize. Would it be possible for Ruger to beef everything up in all the right places and make a Mark II/ Mark III type autoloader in .357 or at least .38 special? I'm sure it would have to be a lot bigger and heavier but would it be possible. I would think...
Just finished the book (Point of Impact) on which the movie was based.
"how on earth does he do this? is it another firing pin or does the rifle just not have a firing pin or is a filed down firing pin or something?"
in the book he modifies the firing pin I won't say how in case someone...
I'm looking for a good informative gun oriented magazine to subscribe to. I'm already getting American Rifleman. Rifles are my first love but I would like to get information on long guns and handguns in general. I'm thinking Guns and Ammo, but it seems to me that they don't go into great detail...
I know the new Winchester Model 70 made by FN has been out for a while but I haven't heard anything about it. Of course I just learned that FN owns Winchester and that they stopped making the model 70 a few years ago. I'm just wondering if anybody has looked in to them.
