    Just One .22lr Handgun?

My Mark III 22/45 was my first pistol, always goes to the range. One of my best fun gun purchases. A must have accessory is the "ultimatecliploader" for the 22/45, best $25 bucks I ever spent.

    KelTec Sub 2000 (9mm)

For the 9mm I believe you need to change out the mag release to go from Beretta to Smith. The mag release should be available from the Kel-tec website store. If yours is set up for Beretta you can slice a notch in Springfield XD mags to make them work in the S2K.

.22 caliber revolver for personal protection for my wife?

Many would suggest a centerfire handgun, I would tend to agree. But you asked for a .22, my suggestion would be a Ruger Bearcat.

Took my new-to-me Sub2000 to the range today!

I bought one a couple years ago. This is my favorite range gun. One tip I got from a Kel-tec board was to drill out the rear sight a little bigger. This helped me out a lot, quick and easy to do.
