    Cheek riser

I've used many similar Kydex risers. My biggest issue has been that many of them do not have an asymmetric profile, meaning that they move the cheekweld off bore center. That doesn't work well for me when I'm looking for no cast (prone work) to right cast (offhand snap shooting) in my stock.

    Leupold VX-3HD 3.5X10X40mm vs Meopta Optika 6 2.5x15x44mm

I don’t like the light color through most any Leupold scope - even the HD models have a yellowish cast that I find unappealing to my eyes.

    Savage Bolt Gun Question

It's an indirect operation - after removing the firing pin assembly from the bolt body, you first set the firing pin protrusion to .035" (adjusting the front collar on firing pin assembly) and then set the spring length on the firing pin to 2.6" (long action) or 1.9" (short action) by adjusting...

    SIG Cross

I have several; one in 308 and one that I re-chambered with a carbon fiber wrapped barrel in 257 Roberts. I am very fond of the rifle, and it may just be my favorite rifle of all time. My principal complaint with it is that the bolt handle does not lock when the safety is on. Other than that...

    StreamLight, OLight or SureFire

I’ve had good luck with Streamlight pistol and pocket lights, but not long gun lights. My go-to for lights on my carbines is gonna be a Surefire.

    Russian Saiga 308-1

I struggled to get better than 3MOA from mine. I expected (or at least hoped for) better.

    Braced Pistol stamp Watch Thread

One of the two remaining was approved last week. That leaves one of the original eight still pending. There's been no rhyme or reason to this - I had one literally approved a week after filing and the rest coming back in fits and spurts across the intervening four (4) months.

    Help choosing .30 cal silencer

As an aside, and not to take any shine off Nick's offerings at all - I have several of the basic Harvester-300 (direct thread) and think well of them for hunting use. They're definitely a budget option, but so far they seem a solid choice for the form factor.

Does astigmatism mean it's irons or bust?

I don't do well with busy reticles, so I have trended towards 2MOA Aimpoints and such - the smaller dot seems to help.

Who was your biggest influence in the firearms/shooting world?

My rich uncle - he gave me a fancy green suit and a rifle to tote around for a while.

Only 256,162 braced firearms were registered with ATF during the 120-day "amnesty" period

The points about state specific restrictions (ownership and travel) are well taken. OTOH, I have to say that my apprehension at filing the eForm 1 was pretty much demonstrated to be a giant ol’ nothingburger. I sent pictures of a serial number and not the whole firearm - which was, by the way...

Only 256,162 braced firearms were registered with ATF during the 120-day "amnesty" period

I've not been able to comprehend the downside to using the free SBR registration, especially if someone already had a can or other NFA item that required a Goobermint permission slip. What is the downside that I'm missing?

    Early Kimber Montana issues?

I’ve not heard of this, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not true. I will say that the Kimber Montana is a very muzzle-light gun, and that makes it kinda tricky for many (including me) to shoot off a bench for accuracy. I have found that many of my ‘inaccurate’ rifles were actually pretty...
