Do concealed guns belong in stadiums?

Altdave, Your statistical math may be off; 67,000 people avg. per game with 25/28 avg causing issues = 0.004% of people are "bad". Then go with your 10% armed and the numbers don't add up. If the law is changed, just stay at home where you're safe...unless there's a drunk that lost his...

Do concealed guns belong in stadiums?

Altdave, Just as in theory vs reality, when people disagreed about our rights to carry in a restaurant that serves alcoholic beverages, their misgivings were proven to be unjustified. And as you and others mention Applebees, you have neglected to take into consideration that the very game...

    Glocks aren't the best.....

Unless someone owns an item, their opinion counts for nothing. When someone owns an item, their opinion counts for nothing. I make my own decisions, and they're not based on anothers likes or wants. Glance at this and maybe you'll realize that sometimes even "haters" can become...

Smith & Wesson’s Thunder Ranch Defense .45 – your experience?

As an owner of the Thunder Ranch 325, I can tell you it is a fun revolver. It carries much better than the other N frame steel revolvers I have, and since it's only firing a .45acp it's very easy to control. The recoil is almost imperceptible, and that is with hot loads. There are quite a...

Little Help from the Glock Fanboys: 10mm and Pics

BlayGLock, The Smith & Wesson 610 comes in both 6.5" and 4" barrels, has a 6 shot cylinder, and is the most accurate revolver I own. It will shoot both .40cal & 10m with moon clips which make reloading a cinch. In addition to the G20 & G29, it makes range time a lot more fun. A G22/or...

Anyone have a Ruger Super Redhawk "Alaskan" in .45 Colt/.454 Casull?

1858, The Alaskan weighs enough that even hot .45lc loads barely move the barrel in my grasp. Unless you are firing hundreds of rounds at a time, the build up will be very little and cleaning a snap. I usually fire full house .454 casull through it, but when I first shot it I fired quite...

    357mag vs 38spl in J-frame snubbies

Bear, the dpx 110 38sp is an xcellent round. Just pointing out that the lighter the bullet weight, the less perceived recoil, the better the follow up. These snubbies are a 2nd or 3rd backup for me, and even loaded with full house rounds for the range I would need to bring it into action...

    357mag vs 38spl in J-frame snubbies

Both the 340 & 360 are very comfortable to shoot using Corbon's 357mag Powrball. It has been tested in the 38spll here Having fired the full house 158gr loads for fun, a 125gr or less has a much reduced perceived recoil, and the powrball has next to none IMO.

    snub nose BIG bore?

Look kid, what I'm saying is I have ALL of these firearms we are discussing. It doesn't make me better, but I did research both BEFORE I made the purchase and AFTER I fired the handguns to test REAL WORLD velocity. I am not doing what seems to be common place on the internet which is playing...

    snub nose BIG bore?

And the reason many see even the 44 mag as a novelty is they are not able to handle the weapon; it is too powerful, either through recoil or now hearing sensitivity or any other limp wristed reason. People have to accept that they may not be man enough to HANDLE the best. Just don't tell me MY...

    snub nose BIG bore?

Armed Bear, Didn't I reply to you on another bear post about the Mediocre Hornady 300gr doing 1300fps out of the SRH Alaskan? Your commentary always seems to support your firearms; if its a jframe snubbie its OK to lose the performance, but if it's bigger than your 44 mag, it's not ok. ALL...

    snub nose BIG bore?

Whether a big bore revolver, ccw handgun or high capacity auto, there is a compromise inherent to all, but to each of us the compromise may be different. Rejoice in the choice, or conform to the voice of the sheep.

    snub nose BIG bore?

I know a bear is something to be concerned about in the field, but a moose can be a dangerous animal with the weight a car behind its temper. I can fire full load 454s from the srh alaskan and a 4" 44mag S&W and experience the same recoil and similar shot placement/timing with both. And yes...

    snub nose BIG bore?

Armed Bear, Ever notice how all your discussions turn to what to use for bears? Are you really an armed bear trying to get people lulled into security using less than what they are comfortable with?

    snub nose BIG bore?

Mainsail, Hunting and Hiking are two different pursuits, but handgun hunting is more of a challenge and more intense than using a rifle (i.e. bow vs crossbow), and the shorter the barrel/sight distance the harder the shot. Using a .480 SRH Alaskan on my last hunting trip I encountered a 10...
