Police issue warning over 'Liberty Dollars'

Anyone seeing these in your area? http://www.bonnercountydailybee.com/articles/2006/03/01/news/news01.txt PONDERAY -- They may look like the real thing, but Liberty Dollars now circulating in the greater Sandpoint area are neither legal tender, nor can they be accepted at banks or...

Stars & Stripes:Poll of troops in Iraq sees 72% support for withdrawal within a year

I'm glad Realgun chimes in with his close this thread, it doesn't mirror the Bush agenda. You can do better - try again.

Can you name the first five Amendments to the Constitution? 99% of Americans can't!

At the rate this administration is going, in a few years they won't have any meaning than some vague historical reference. No reason for kids to know anything about them other than some guys got together and wrote them up a couple of hundred years ago.

Stars & Stripes:Poll of troops in Iraq sees 72% support for withdrawal within a year

I didn't know the Republicans were still using that old mantra "because they would rather fight the enemy overseas than at home.” I would have expected something better by now. http://www.stripes.com/article.asp?article=35385&section=104 WASHINGTON — Seventy-two percent of troops on the...

Anyone know what's being done to repeal the "Sporting Purposes" law?

Hawkeye - you must not have listened to the State of the Union speech. President Bush spoke about the need to remove all onerous gun legislation and a return to the orginal meaning of the Constitution. I don't remember the exact wording he used in the speech, but for examples he suggested...

    cops get gun-mounted cameras

If it makes them safter and more effective - I'm all for it. Sounds like a good idea. Personally, I'm waiting for the mini-Krispy Kreme donut maker than can be plugged into the cigarette lighter in the squad car. Love those donuts.

Ever order from Cal's Sporting Armory?

I've seen threads on the HK forum about them - I "tried" to order some magazines (over a year ago) via phone and got no where. Surly wouldn't begin to describe the fellow who answered their phone. I'd still like to get some magazines, post your results and maybe I'll order again using the web...

scheduled hearings were NOT broadcast, curious isn't it?

You obviously weren't in a "free speech zone". Only those in designated "free speech zones" were permitted to view the hearings. I know I never leave home without my "free speech zone" bubble, and when I want to see or hear something that is “free speech zone” restricted – I simply inflate my...

    TSA and airguns

I haven't seen this discussed here. It might not be well known, air rifle/pistol shooters don't get much press. TSA policy - "Compressed gas cylinders are allowed in checked baggage or as a carry on only if the regulator valve is completely disconnected from the cylinder and the cylinder is...

    CCW Gunshows?

I work (volunteer) at the table checking guns into our local gun show, putting cable ties on them to "secure" them. Our policy is you're carrying your CCW weapon and I don't see it - no problem. If I see it (quite a few people show them to me) - it gets a cable tie or you don't get in.

CBS Slants Bush Poll in Favor of Democrats

Given the performance of the Bush presidency, I'm going to assume they couldn't find more people than that who were willing to identify themselves as Republicans.

NSA Uses Private Firms for Massive Unchecked Domestic Surveillance [VIDEO]

9/11 really opened the floodgates to this activity. Read "No Place Left to Hide" by Robert O'Harrow, Jr. The author spends quite a bit of page space on this subject.

"Walmart Laws:" Compromise, incrementalism and RKBA

I noticed this mornings news that Walmart is number 10 on the list of of "Global Most Admired Companies in 2006". They must be doing something right. http://money.cnn.com/magazines/fortune/globalmostadmired/top50/?cnn=yes

Losing the 2nd Amendment again in 2008?

You're right, Bush has set a standard for how conservative a viable Republican candidate has to be - and what a trend setter he is.

    Super Redhawk

Ruger has pretty good customer service - I'd find a shop where you can look at another one and verify that something is wrong with yours before engaging Ruger. They're good at fixing really obvious things (cylinder won't turn, trigger doesn't work) - a problem like yours might take a couple of...

    45 ACP ????????????

Why? The marketing people needed something to do. ;) I shot all of those in your list but the 40 S&W before ever trying the 45 acp. Now it's all I shoot - I usually shoot it in 1911's, but I have Sig, H&K and even a Glock in 45 acp. It's very manageable for me and I like that.

Tell Me About S&W's Model 41....

I've seen a lot of them in my 25 years of Bullseye shooting. Older ones were excellent - the two newer ones I've seen in the last 5 years weren't. One went back and forth to S&W 3 times to see if they could get it to work - the owner finally gave up and sold it. The other one we tinkered with at...

NRA Board member loses his Gun Store

It's not infringement - why don't you ask the folks who were trying to buy a firearm for protection and were unable to because of background checks and/or waiting periods. Get our your Ouija board, you'll need to communicate with a number of them because they're dead. I think your definition...
