Look how easy it is to limit Heller

"Machine guns cost as much as a car. Of course, they're not in common use..." One could also point out that every machine gun that legally exists currently for civilians is in use. It can't get any more common than 100%.

    Dating girlfriends and guns

When I was dating a girl that I was matched up with by some friends of both of ours I mentioned that I had a gun and that I carried it on about our third or fourth phone conversation (before we had even gone on a blind date). That way, she had a better idea of my personality, and she wasn't...

if you had to go in combat

Ar15. I have one, with a decent amount of ammo and mags for it, plus I'm comfortable with the platform. I also have access to a few more if things really went down hill. Hopefully soon I'll have a second of my own. Since I live in an urban area, it would be best for the close...

    $300 NRA life membership

Another brand new Life Member thanks Tuckerdog1. It was a piece of cake to do it over the phone and I spent a total of 2 minutes and 21 seconds on the phone. Doesn't get much easier than that.

    "Six seconds from safety"

This thread makes me wonder what exactly the legal defention of open carry is. I always assumed it was carrying in a OWB with it occassionally peaking out. The only way I can think of to always have the gun in view would be a leg drop holster or a jackass over your coat.

"50 caliber terror" List of 50 cal used in crime

There was an episode of The First 48 where someone committed a murder with a DE in .50AE. But of course it was easy to track them down since not to many criminals have one. If they had used a 9mm they might still be free.

What if the second amendment is found not to be an individual right?

While thats true, we have gotten CHL's (or your states equivalent) and the AWB is no more. Progress has been made.

Cost isnt an issue - who makes the absloute best leather 1.5" gun belt?

I have a Milt Sparks that I wear everyday and its 3 years old and still good to go. If you don't want to wait you could always call up Lighting Arms http://www.lightningarms.com/ and they should have the Milt Sparks belt your looking for. You pay a little more, but they normally have...

H.R. 861: To amend title 18, United States Code, to provide a national CCW

I'm tired so I can't say that I read all the posts, but I was struck with an interesting idea. If this passes then you carry under the rules from the state that issued your license right (not necessarily your home state)? What if you had two licenses, with different rules, one for you home...

Class III weapons illegal for self defense?!

I don't think there would be any problem in using a suppressed weapon in SD in you home. Its not your fault that you just happened to have your weapon out with the suppressor on it and mag in and right next to you because you were preparing to take it to the range tomorrow. Freak...

Concealed Carry Help - What to Purchase

I bought a brand new 637 yesterday for $330 plus tax. That would be within your price range given.

Dem's view on the 2nd Amendment: Repeal it.

Scoot over and pass a 1911 mag. I'm starting to run low over here.

The willies from carrying the first time

[For RaetherEnt] I suggest a Milt Sparks Watch Six, or VM2; along with a good quality belt. Again a milt sparks would be my suggestion. Make sure to add extra length to compensate for you added friends girth. If Milt Sparks is a while from their next production run of what you want, I...

    "We Were Soldiers" accuracy question

The DVD has two really good deleted scenes that should have made the movie. The scene where some of the soldiers are out hunting, and the scene where the guy comes back wearing his birthday suite. I can't believe that they didn't make it! I highly suggest you watch them.

    What's your 18 hour a day rig?

A Kimber Pro Carry Stainless in a Milt Sparks Watch Six with a Milt Sparks Belt, and a IPS (Single Mag IWB).

    Bedside gun

I would suggest a 1911. A used, basic no thrills 1911 should be obtainable for $300. I also like the 1911 because of the safety features necessary to fire it. I feel alot safer with a 1911 beside me than a weapon with no safetys. IMO. The 1911 safety is second nature to me, and I don't...

    1911 carry guns?

I carry a Kimber Pro Carry Stainless (4" Stainless with alum frame) in a VMII. All day every day. I wouldn't have any problems carrying a full size 1911, the length of the slide doesn't any real difference if you are carrying IWB, the handle is the only part that is visible and...

Armored trk driver has never shot his gun

Lone Star You are correct. When taking the Texas CHL course, if you take the shooting test with a revolver, you are restricted to just being able to carry a revolver, but if you take the shooting test with a semi-automatic, you can legally carry either type of hangun.
