    A use of cover question

Cool! I shall practice more then. I reckon it's so that you can see what you're shooting at.

    A use of cover question

I recently took a one day tactical carbine course, and while I had a lot of fun and learned a bunch, there was one technique that we used that I didn't feel really comfortable with. It involved using cover where you're shooting around a corner that is opposite of your strong hand Okay, that...

Ever had a gun pulled on you

I've got an old couple that lives across the street in their mid 70's. The old man can't hear for nothing, and is a little eccentric..but nice as anybody you'll meet. He's a retired city cop and worked in Memphis back in the bad old days of the 60's...and by "bad" I mean all the violence...

    AR Brands

Depends on what you want. I built my first AR using a Stag lower and a CMMG upper. I thought real hard about getting a RRA upper, but what I really wanted was a midlength upper with a chrome lined 1:7 twist barrel. RRA didn't have one, but CMMG did.

    AR bedroom gun

Anything survives 12 ga and .45, I'll be shooting whatever I got left over my shoulder while I'm running the opposite direction.

    AR bedroom gun

Mine doesn't. :scrutiny: And where did all those other balls ov 00 buck go? I can honestly say that when I bought my HD shotgun, "The sound it makes" didn't even cross my mind.

    AR bedroom gun

Meh. I hear that a lot, but I've never once heard anything anecdotal to back it up. Certainly not great enough to make any real difference at the ranges inside my house.

Most drop dead reliable, take no @#$% .22 rifle?

I've had my Marlin 39M ever since I was a kid and it has never failed me.

    AR bedroom gun

I've got two magazines of 75 grain Hornedy TAP for home defense, but to be honest, I suspect that if goblins ever did break into my house, I'd probably be too busy with other stuff to "fight my way" to the AR.

    30-40 Krag

I've got a beautifully sporterized Krag that's hands down the most accurate firearm I own.

Cetme Ground Bolt Heads and Safety Issues

I don't think anyone is suggesting that the manuals are wrong or incomplete because they don't say not to grind the bolt. Isn't it possible that it never occurred to the designers that anyone would try to grind the bolt, and that's why they didn't specifically say not to do it? Let me ask...

Options for mounting a red dot on a Sub-2000

Are there any easy options other than the Kel-Tec spring loaded mount for installing a rail on a Sub-2000 in order to mount a red dot optic? I haven't found any aftermarket rails that would fit, but I have found a lot of WECSOG type tips on making one fit. Any suggestions?

    Who makes a holster for a S&W 4043TSW?

My wife's grandfather has a Smith 4043TSW with the light rail, and I'd like to find a nice holster for it. He doesn't have a light mounted. I've been looking around but can't seen to find anyone who has one. Do any of you know of one?

    please don't bubba a mil-surp gun

My very favorite rifle is a sporterized '98 Krag. I have no idea who did it (I inherited it from my Grandad) but whoever it was, they were an artist IMHO. ...and to make matters worse, it's got some kind of freaky improved chamber and I was able to shoot a .25" 4 round...

I just acquired a strange little handgun.

What do you think? My wife's mother's foster-dad gave me this little revolver. I'm not really sure about it, but I didn't want to be rude, so I thanked him and accepted it graciously. First, it's old. The heel of the grip shows a lot of what I can only imagine is Overall Pocket Wear...

    Your chosen 'MinuteMan' rifle....

Oh these are fun. :D If it were a Katrina style "don't mess with me and I won't mess with you" situation, I'd grab my AR carbean. If it were a long term, full out, hollywood epic, all the rules just went up in smoke situation, probably my PTR-91. Both backed up by my Grandad's old...

    AR15 Question

I'm not very mechanically minded, but I was able to get it together using the same instructions that wdlsguy posted a link to without having any springs or detents ricocheing off the walls. The only hitch I had was I scratched up the reciever a tiny bit when installing the bolt catch. I got...

    AR15 Question

I also had the problem of which one to buy for my first AR, but I solved it by doing a lot of research, figuring out exactly what I wanted, and built it...well, half of it anyway. I got a Stag stripped lower, put RRA parts in it along with a plain jane M-4 adjustable stock, then put a CMMG...

    I got a PTR-91! Woooo Hooooo!....

I've got three magazines with U.S. made followers and floorplates that I use right now, but I've got a whole stack of German magazines for when I get a U.S. made sear and hammer from JLD :)
