    Why trigger safety on Glock?

So if the trigger safety were removed from a Glock, you would, essentially, have the same situation as a pre Series 80 1911(ie no firing pin block safety). Both may discharged if dropped. (Well, the 1911 woule be safer because it would have to land muzzle down and put the bullet into the ground...

    Why trigger safety on Glock?

What kind of accidental discharge is the trigger safety on a Glock supposed to prevent? If it weren't there, what would have to be done to the gun, excluding pulling the trigger, to make it discharge?

    Quantico Shooting Club on youtube

For Valentines day, 2010, I gave my wife a Glock 19. My wife isn't a gun person, but she liked the idea of that particular gun. She is a very busy professional and getting her out to shoot just about required making an appointment. At QSC, a range officer is required to open the range. They...

    Lfi 2010 ???

Does anyone know if something has happened with Mas Ayoob? The only class listed on the schedule for 2010 is LFI-4. Used to be that by this time there would be some of the following year's classes. Sent an e-mail but havn't gotten any reply.

    Questions about gun schools...

Sorry to be a little late into this thread but have been away for a while. I have done LFI 1,2,3 and 4 as well as Suarez International's Advanced Close Range Gunfighting, Extreme Close Range Gunfighting and Interactive Gunfighting (Force on Force) If you have any thoughts of using a gun in...

    Firearm Knowledge of the Uninformed.

Actually, the term "cop killer bullet" was in use long befor LW-III. They just picked up on it to advance the anti-gun cause (as could be seen by all the anti-gun posters around the police station). All of the LW movies seem to have an anti-gun message. The problem with talking in terms of...

The thread from the dead had a good question: Who here has had training?

    1. Spend less time on the range and more time in the gym/dojo. 2. Techniques that work beautifully in IPSC/IDPA fall apart when there are bullets coming the other way. 3. Woe unto the man who insists on bringing a gun to a knife fight.

Recommend a book for tactical pistol shooting

They've also got some great courses, as exemplified by this. However, I would recommend Lethal Force Instute 1 as a starter. Mas has a masterful way of presenting things, especially as they relate to firearm safety. If you can't get there, at least try to get LFI Handgun Safety. It's the...

If You Can Carry Legally, Do You?

My decision to carry or refrain from carrying is determined by the question, "Is there a reason not to carry it?".

    Dumb Gun-Fu Question

If you step through that scene frame by frame, you will find that the only reason Cruise's character survived is because he was going up against a street punk. After getting out of the line of fire, Cruise released the guy's had while he went for his gun. The punk had his gun back on Cruise...

So what's the problem? If you ordered it on line, I would assume that you paid for it with a credit card. Call the credit card company and protest the charge.

    Centennial 1911's?

I had a set of WW1 and WW2 Colt 1911 commemoratives. Very pretty on the wall, but, when I sold them, I got the equivalent of bank interest (perhaps a little less)

    Another LEO ND!!!

The original poster indicates that he is located on the "left coast". Sounds like he can't get a ccw because, as we all know, mere citizens are too stupid to be trusted with carrying guns. Police officers are different. They've had TRAINING. Until two years ago, I lived in NJ, which is a...

    Gabe Suarez on mass shootings

I have read the books of both Ayoob and Suarez and attended Suarez' Interactive Gunfighting class twice. I have graduated Ayoob's Lethal Force Institute (ie, done LFI 1,2, 3 and 4). From that perspective it is my opinion that both are very different and both are very valuable. LFI-1 is an...

    Your First Gun...Still Got It?

J.C.Higgens semi-auto .22 rifle. It's iffy and I have misfires about 10 percent of the time with it. Not really in the mood to buy another .22 rifle.

    Suarez Defensive Pistol Skills Course

I don't care if he was a crook or not. His courses (I did his Interactive Gunfighting twice - broke my arm in the second class) are real eye openers. You'd be amazed at the number of people who forget that their 1911s have manual safeties that must be disengaged.
