    Fear Breeds Gun Sales

Law abiding citizens do not normally shoot cops. A little urban investment would go a long way to ensure that these felons do not become so in the first place. Much better than trying to control their tools.

Saiga in either .223 or 7.62x39. You can add a folding stock later. Very reliable and fun to shoot.

    long range rifle fun

I have shot several deer with a .30-06 over 225 yds. I have friends who go out west and have killed deer over 300 yds with a .30-06.

Remington Model 7 CDL 300 WSM Prices

A new 7 CDL in wood goes for $650 on up retail. I would expect a WSM caliber to be $750 or more. $600 is pretty much a steal. 100% NIB Blue book is far more than that. Go for it!!!!

    .44 mag vs. .357 mag

I am not a long range pistol shooter. At the ranges which I feel comfortable shooting at game with my revolver, a .357 is plenty deadly. Ammo is less expensive and just or more plentiful.

Coonan .357. I could have had several for cheap. Now they are almost as bad as trying to find a cheap Python.....

    Ruger 10/22 vs. Marlin 795

I will echo others. I prefer the 795 out of the box, but it can not compare to a modified 10/22.

    .30 Carbine?

The 7.62x39 is less powerful than the 30-30 which is often discounted as ineffective for larger game.... Hunting rounds in 7.62x39 are very near most hunting rounds for the .30-30. .30-30 is good enough for deer and elk sized game and black bear at appropriate distances.
