    .45 swaged lead HP?

When you change the shape a lot (like a HP) it takes more pressure, harder alloy, more pressure, larger caliber, more pressure. No I dont think a rockchucker would handle it. If youre comfortable with putting a 2ft handle on it, and putting all your body weight into it, with it not...

Need help picking a starter kit

Freakshow used to carry the billiard ball handles but he no longer carries them or any other reloading equipment. I still make them, its kind of a hobby of mine. They thread right on Dillon and most other brands that thread on. On Lee equipment the ball needs to be glued on...

Why you should pack your reloads primer up

Another reason for primer up if you cast your bullets and use a soft lube. If the rounds are primer down and get a little to warm (Like sitting in your car in the summer, or shooting a match where youre out in the sun) some lube can seep down into the powder and you will get a squib. Primer up...

    respirator for indoor range use

You will need a P100 rated respirator. They can be had in either the disposable type of the cartridge type. If my only option was shooting indoors I would wear one.

Wanting to get into competition pistol shooting, what handgun to buy?

Like many others have mentioned it really depends on what competitions are availabe and what you plan on shooting. For example no sense in getting a Glock for a bullseye match or no sense in getting an XD for shooting GSSF matches. If you reload the most versatile setup for trying a...

    Newbie Rechambering Questions

Plenty of surplus and new manfactured ammo is available mail order. Ammo man, aim surplus, probably many others. I picked up some surplus at the gun show for $5.00/20 rounds. Grafs has about the best price on brass or you can size down 8mm mauser brass. Cast bullets loaded to about 1500fps...

    Springfield XD .45acp

This is probably around 150 to 200 rounds from the ransom rest at 25 yrds. 6 different loads. 4 factory loads and 2 handloads. 165gr to 230 gr. Lead and jacketed. I was sorting thru the pics and I think this one sums it up pretty well. This is the first target I put up and after all the...

    Springfield XD .45acp

I did a little Ransom Rest testing on my XD45 . I tested a few different brands of 230gr ball ammo plus a handload of 230 gr ball with 4.5 gr Titegroup Winchester bulk pack 230gr(WWB); Remington UMC 230gr and the handloads all grouped less than 3" at 25 yards. Not much less than 3" but...

    Springfield XD .45acp

Seven; The XD does have a fully supported chamber and it has regular rifling. I cant recall if the manual says anything about lead bullets or not but Ive put a lot of lead thru mine. It just doesnt seem to like semi wadcutters. Adam

Tell me About 22 Pistol Bullseye

If there just shootin 22's it is probably an informal league. I would guess they are shooting slow fire which is 10 shots in 10 minutes shot at 50 yards. Then timed fire, 5 shots in 20 seconds twice, shot at 25 yards. And finally rapid fire, 5 shots in 10 seconds twice shot at 25 yards as well...

I'm now a Dean - what guns would make it worth it?

Dont buy ammo!!! Buy reloading equipment, you could get a quality press of your choice and be setup for all your handgun and rifle shooting.

Didn’t blow up, but could have…..

Sounds like there was no powder at all. just a primer will lodge a bullet in a barrel just fine. A little powder will at least get the bullet out of the barrel. Give yourself some credit for stopping when you did, good job. Things like that do happen when you reload. Get yourself a squib...

    GLOCKS vs. XDs

Im just the opposite, I had been shooting USPSA with a Glock, great gun. I tried an XD and it fit me better, scores went up right away. I wish it had been the other way around as I had a lot in the Glock but the timer doesnt lie. ;) Both are great but the XD works for me.

How much PF to knock down steel?

Well here are several recipes for 200gr lead in 38 special at ~ 725fps to 800fps. Im sure you could even back those down some to get a 140pf load that is very pleasent to shoot and still have plenty of authority on steel. :rolleyes...
