Revolver cylinder gap gas severs thumb, now shooter sues S&W

Maybe S&W can find someone to testify that the man's thumb was already loose when the accident occurred. Or maybe that he read on a gun forum how holding your hand over the cylinder acts like a suppressor*. *It doesn't. Do you REALLY need to be told that?

Revolver cylinder gap gas severs thumb, now shooter sues S&W

If you do ANYTHING to defame the good name of John Moses Browning, you shall forevermore be consigned to load each round singly. :cuss: ;)

Revolver cylinder gap gas severs thumb, now shooter sues S&W

Did you notice the amount of the settlement isn't listed? It's an unusual lawsuit. He's only suing for a single digit.

Will it also shoot 32 H&R Mag, or is it a different bullet entirely?

    Why a 38 Special

I have a beautiful Model 66, and it's the most accurate revolver I own. But I also have 2 Model 10s from different decades and they're wonderful too. So why shoot .357? Because I can. My aim has gotten a lot better in the last two years. At one point I couldn't put .357 on the paper at...

    Inexpensive Revolvers

Did I do okay? S&W Model 10, 4" barrel, nickel-plated, but with some of it worn off in places. Five screw. Seventy Five Dollars, as is. In a gunshop. In California. The timing was a little off, so a gunsmith fixed it up and cleaned it real pretty for $100. $175. And it shoots like...

    What is this shotgun accessory?

If the design is authentic for the late 19th century, "new" ones would be a hit with the SASS crowd and reenactors.

    Mossberg 500A vs 590?

Lee Lapin said: :D:D:D It's funny you should say that. On Saturday, I found a 590 on the shelf, tagged as "Used, but Unfired", which I took to mean that it'd been fired once by someone who saw one in a videogame, loaded it up with "XTREME" slugs, and, with his first ever actual...

    NYPD and Mossberg

Uh, sort of. The 590 pump handle has two arms that cycle the round, not one like on the 500. The magazine on the 590 is a lot more flexible in terms of changing it. It seems a bit sturdier overall. Are there any issues with the Ithaca 37s (since they'll be flooding the Used market soon ;) )?

    Powder universality

This is the approach I'm taking; 4895 for 6.5 Swede and 7.62X54R, and Bullseye for 32 acp, 9X19, 9X18, 38 Spcl and 357 Mag. If I want to work up "one-hole" loads, I can do that later. And fewer powders means few opportunities to mess up.

    RCBS Ingots?

I got a good buy today on lead at a garage sale--about 20 lbs of raw lead and solder (not sure the alloy yet) and an ammo can with 30 lbs of ingots. They have RCBS on the top, and a stripe of green spray paint across the middle. Is there any chance these ingots were sold in this form by RCBS...

I want to load both calibers. I know one set of dies allows me to do both, but I can't remember which set.

    Evaluate Lee Reloading Manual

The Lee manual is a fun read. A lot of manuals are rather dry. It'd be the book I recommend for the new or potential reloader because, as Fiero said, "is interest and excitement in loading is infectious".

Reloading with steel cases (45 ACP)

Today there is a lot of nice brass laying around. Tomorrow? Who knows. Whether or not aluminum and steel are or aren't as good as brass, I want to know it can be done, successfully, with the tools I have.
