New Sig Pro 2022 vs. Old P6/P225

Thanks for the input. How would I know if the P6 needed a spring kit? Also, I have only shot the P239 (which I liked but it's too expensive.) Are either of the two that I mentioned terribly dissimilar?

New Sig Pro 2022 vs. Old P6/P225

Not much experience of my own so I thought I would ask you guys: I can buy a retired German police P6/P225 in "Very Good" condition (with 1, 8rd mag.) that is around 20 years old for $370. I can also get a new Sig Pro 2022 for around $500 (comes with 2, 15rd mags.) Which should I spend...

    I Love My Sig P220

P6 variant I don't want to hijack the thread, but I've got a chance to purchase the P6/225 variant of the P220 and was wondering if $370 was a good deal for a 20 year old weapon.

I've read Taurus warranties their guns for the life of the gun, regardless of owner. If I purchased one of those S&W 64s and something needed work on it, would I have to pay S&W or a gunsmith to fix it or does S&W have a warranty similar to Taurus?

I'm not following you there. In my mind, a shorter barrel would be better for home defense. If someone grabbed for the gun and got the barrel I would want the leverage on my side, not on his. Granted I'm probably thinking about it too hard... With the proper care though wouldn't a revolver be...

I'm sorry, I burst out laughing when I read that. I don't know if you meant to reference this or not, but the first thing I thought of was Barney Fife from the Andy Griffith show and his solitary bullet.

Well, my reasoning is: a .38 caliber isn't going to kick too much in the first place. During a home invasion or something the adrenaline will be going so much that I doubt I would notice the recoil. And shooting it at the range would get me used to whatever recoil the gun did happen to have. I...

I am interested in purchasing a snub nose revolver in .38 caliber. I've narrowed the options down to: S & W M360 38sp Scandium Used S & W 637 38sp or the new Ruger LCR 38sp Of the three the used Smith and Wesson 637 is obviously the cheapest, but the brand new Ruger LCR is just over a...

Considering first purchase I'm 31 and have moved into the suburbs from a more rural area. News stories about home invasions, etc. have a certain immediacy to them now. So I am thinking about buying a firearm.
