    M&P 45 vs XD 45 vs XDM 45

XD made it to my top 3 before I bought the M&P. Both nice weapons. The M&P fit my hand better and was more comfortable to shoot, so I was more accurate with it. Buy the M&P, put an Apex kit in it, and never look back.

Any point in a heat shield?

I fired 45 rounds out of my 590 as fast as I could load and fire. The barrel got plenty hot, and I decided to leave the heat shield on.

I've about convinced myself I want a semi auto carbine.

I'm surprised no one mentioned an M1A Scout???

    Newest member of my family

I own 3 M&P's including the 9c. I have never had a problem with it. Accurate, comfortable, reliable. Your slide problem sound like a magazine problem. Try another mag and see if it does the same thing.

1911 Stock Mag Or Other Poll?

I chose Wilson's, but the CMC Power mags work well too.

    New .45. NEED help!

Another BIG FAN of the Dan Wessons here. Best value of the market. Pick one, you can't go wrong!

The Ruger SP 101 .357 Mag

I've had my Security Six for over 25 years. It is still my nightstand gun. I doubt I'll ever give it up.

CA AB 962 signed into law

This is SO ridiculous, I just don't have words for it. What a Turncoat (Arnold)! Luckily the Cal Guns Foundation is already pushing ahead with their legal strategy to overturn. Why should YOU care, because if it stands, it will spread! This is a sad day in the People's Republic of...

    1911 magazines

I have used the 47D's & CMC Power Mags too. Both work flawlessly (much better than my Dan Wesson mags).

    Handgun ammo under CA AB962?

The general consensus is that it does cover reloading supplies. No more buying over the Internet. FTF only. :cuss:

    I need help with Kimber.

I have shot Kimbers and liked them. I have friends that swear by them. I chose Dan Wesson, and believe that was the right choice for me. Go shoot some different 1911's. That's the only way you can make an intelligent choice for YOU.

    Springfield Armory XD45

I shot many before I chose my first Poly gun. I ended up going with M&P, but the XD is fine weapon, and good choice.

    Selling on Gunbroker

Sounds possible. If he is NOT a LEO, the FFL cannot release it to him. 1. Call and talk to the FFL. Make sure he is OK with the shipment. Get his details. 2. Get the money first, before you ship. 3. Don't spread this metality that "It's just not worth shipping to California." We get too...

    LIght Strikes with M&P 40

I own 3 M&P's with lots of rounds through each, and have never seen that problem. I would let S&W (or at least a local Smith), have a look at it.

    M&P9 - anyone like?

I bought the full size 9mm almost 2 years ago. I liked it so well I have since bought the 9c and the 45FS. Comfortable, accurate, very reliable. Never had a problem with any of them. Highly recommended.

    20 gauge or 12 gauge?

At 10 yards (or so), I think both 12Ga and 20Ga are very effective. However, I'm no expert, but IMHO, unless you are literally face to face with the Bad Guy, birdshot will only make him/her mad.

    Let's talk buckshot...

I own a Mossy 590 for HD. I have patterened it with 3 types of 00 Buck. All Low Recoil (Tactical), all shot at 10 yds, Remington, Fiocchi & Federal. Remington RL12BK00 - 3.5 inch pattern Fiocchi 12LE00BK - 5.5 inch pattern Federal LE133 00 - 1.2 inch pattern (Flite Control) I also took...

    M&P review

I own 3 M&P's (9mm, 9c & 45). I like them all. All started with rough gritty triggers, but got better with more rounds down the pipe. If you are looking for a 1911 style trigger, forget it. A 1911 is 1911. However, you can get reasonably close with a trigger job from Burwell or Bowie. I...
