Since I initiated the trainer interview series, a number of people have asked what my answers to the questions are. Because I'm not supposed to write about myself on Examiner, here are my responses.
1) What is the value of training?
Training allows people to focus on the human interaction...
The last interview I did at the SHOT Show was with Kandi Blick. She is an amazing woman; former Marine, Rangemaster at Front Sight, and Instructor at her own school. Her thoughts about the value of training and why we should train are super.

Doing an interview with someone who works the medical complement to firearms training was really interesting. Caleb has been both an operator and a medic, which gives him a unique perspective on training.

This case points out the importance of being aware of where your muzzle is pointing. Muzzle direction is the primary safety of safe gunhandling; always has been and always will be.

Our Castle Doctrine has been well established in both caselaw and statutory law for over 100 years. In practice, breaking and entering or any seeming attempt thereto in Georgia places the intruder in the position of being shot with legal justification.
That doesn't mean it's moral or ethical...
The Men's Mass Start was even better.
It was the finish that everyone has been waiting for in Biathlon at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Emil Hegle Svendsen of Norway and Martin Fourcade of France battled it out for Gold in the final stretch of the Biathlon Men’s Mass Start at the Winter Olympics...
I really enjoyed doing the interview with Greg Hamilton. His background and mine are very similar, just 10 years apart. We also think so much alike that it’s a little scary.

It was the finish that everyone has been waiting for in Biathlon at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Emil Hegle Svendsen of Norway and Martin Fourcade of France battled it out for Gold in the final stretch of the Biathlon Men’s Mass Start at the Winter Olympics and the race had to be decided by photo...
The race for the Bronze medal wasn’t decided until the last few seconds of the Women’s Mass Start in Biathlon today. And it was a very good day for Susan Dunklee of Team USA.

SuperDave is one of the most intense personalities in the training industry. His students from SWC have probably ‘laid the hate’ on more enemies of our country than anyone else in the training community.

It was an exciting race to watch today. Watching sports doesn't generally do much for me but biathlon is the exception. Things can change so easily in the shoots if a target or two is missed. Any of the top 9 finishers could have ended up on the podium. Three of them lost in the final shoot...
I would have to czech the stats but one of the NBC common taters said the Germans and Austrians tend to be the strongest shooters in Biathlon. Lesser making the podium seems in line with that.
The Individual event in Biathlon is a real shooting race. A miss adds one minute to the athlete's time. Four misses hurt XXX, very badly. He was 3 minutes and 50 seconds out of the Gold.

Paul Carlson and I had a very interesting interview. He is the owner of Safety Solutions Academy in Ohio and is a very good thinker.

Another upset in Biathlon. Ninth place starter comes from behind to win Women's Pursuit.
Marksmanship, or lack thereof, hurt the US team badly. Susan Dunklee noted that she had a momentary lapse of concentration going into the fourth shoot and then missed three targets for a total of four. It...
John Farnam is often referred to as the ‘Dean’ of tactical firearms instructors. He has been a firearms trainer for four decades and is considered one of the preeminent authorities in the field. This interview also includes an excerpt of his essay, Living With Firearms, which is reprinted with...
