Anyone ever break a primer push pin on the decapping die?

Floppy D it wasnt the dies fault! It was the military brass I was depriming and resizing, flash hole wasnt centered! I have never had a problem using RCBS dies.

Squib load- getting past the psychology

Sorry cant help you there as all Ive ever used is a RCBS single stage press. I use RCBS uniflow measurer and weigh every eighth or tenth round to make sure everything is still on track. Squib load- getting past the psychology

I would do as Mr Creosote has said and weigh each round you have left and look for any inconsistencies. Those I would tear down. If you have a round you know to be good that would be the first one I would weigh and go from there!

Have $300-$400 for first time reloading setup..need recommendations please!

Im partial to RCBS! Weve been using the same press and dies since the mid 70's and RCBS has great customer service. We have a few other brands of dies which work as well as RCBS. As far as reloading manuals Ive seen quite a few mention the Lyman manual. I have the Sierra and would recommend it...

    Worst mistake you've made reloading?

Im glad you are still here to tell us about it! Did the rounds fired behind the squibs split the barrel at all. It looks like it just bulged your barrels? Bulges look like they are almost in the same location. Again Id say you were lucky twice to walk away from this day in one piece!

Where do you put your ammo?

I keep 3 to 10 rounds (depending on gun) in the magazine of the guns. I store all the rest in green ammo cans or tool boxes!

Just dumped and redid them. I read where several members have had squibs, my dad showed me a trick I still use and have...
