Favorite and least favortie gun shops

Since I haven't seen anyone speak up for South Carolina, I may as well. A couple here in Charleston: Carolina Rod & Gun is a bit overpriced, but a good group of guys to deal with. Ed is always helpful and offers good advice. Plus you never know what kind of deals you'll find on the used gun...

I have the opportunity to pick up a couple of auto ordinance .45's in a trade and I was wondering what the general opinion of these guns are. Any help is appreciated.

    Sights

I've picked up a shortbarreled mossberg and I was wondering. What's the price to have rifle sights installed? Nothing fancy, just something better than the bead sight.

    Gun-related names for your kid

It's amazing how little sense of humor women have when it comes to the prospect of naming kids. I showed my girlfriend this thread when she asked what I was laughing about. She just stood there with a "that is so not funny" look. :neener:

Anyone have a HK P2000 9mm within 40 miles of Clemson, SC?

Good luck trying to find one. I doubt that even Grady's would even carry it. But it is a great gun very comfortable. If you liked the G19, you'll more than likely enjoy the HK.

    Be careful taking someone shooting

Dragon what is it with women and the G 19?:D I don't have a problem with her having one of mine, but I would have liked to get more than two mags through it for what it cost me.

    How about a CZ52 in .38 Super/9X23???

There was also a gunsmith who made a round called .223 timm(sp?) It was supposed to be able to be fired form a cz 52. It used a plastic sabot to hold a smaller bullet. It was supposed to be able to be fired without changing the barrel or mag.

    Be careful taking someone shooting

lenny joe, I'm starting to think you're right. Pre-nups are a great idea. I should just be happy I didn't take my hi-power or something I couldn't replace. :banghead:

    .22 beretta or ruger

guys thanks for all the information. I've shot the 22/45 and liked it.. Just didn't want to rush in without exploring my options. That's how I wound up with the buckmark. Don't get me wrong great accuracy and all, but a pistol that will only feed one type of ammo reliably is a pain. The...

    Be careful taking someone shooting

I just got back from taking my girlfriend shooting for the first time. I started her off with a browning .22 and then a .38 S&W. Finally while she was banging away with the .38 I decided it was time to try out my new Glock 19. I'm having a blast with it. She gets curious and asks to try it...

do/would you wear gun related apparel?

In the past I've worn shirts with gun co. logos. Especially last semester in my poli sci class. I loved ticking off the prof. She didn't see the need for private ownership. Anyway walked in wearing a HK tshirt that said always on duty. A couple of the guys got the meaning, but the one that...

    .22 beretta or ruger

Okay I know everyone has their own opinion, but here goes. I need to replace a browning buckmark that I had. Great shooter, just real picky on ammo. It would only feed CCI stingers reliably. I'm looking at buying either a beretta NEO or a ruger 22/45. I'd like one that can function well...

It reminds me of a variant of the model 1915. Is it a .32 caliber?

It seems snipers now use 9mm handguns to take their shots...

There was a russian sniper system a couple of years ago that used a 9mm round. More like a 9x23 than a 9x19.

    A couple of questions

thanks for the information. I'm trying to decide if it's going to be worth the investment. I plan on starting out loading .357 and 10mm. Then maybe adding in 30-06. The 10mm is my main concern because it's a PITA to find here in SC and if I do they are selfdefense loads and not something I...
