    Lee Full Length Sizer -maintenance?

I reload using a Lee Classic Turret Press. I have used the same 9 mm die set for the last 3-4 years. Not sure how many I've loaded - maybe 2-3,000 a year. Tonight it was very difficult operating my full length sizer - I was just using the sizer to take out the old primer and put in a new...

    Almost a disaster today

Was shooting my SA RO 1911 .45 ACP today and shooting lead, RN bullets - loaded with 4.2 grains of Bullseye, 230 gr bullet (can't recall primer - I'll check when I get home). Loaded 8 rounds and thought I fired all - target was shot up so I could not count. Changed magazines and the first...

Why not many Taurus pistols for sale?

I follow our local gun trader website closely (OK - daily). Lot of glocks, springfields, sigs, etc. for sale. With all the Taurus bashing why are there not more used Taurus pistols for sale? (would love to buy a used Taurus 1911)

    Glock 24C

Saw a 24C for a reasonable price. I already have a G22 that I enjoy shooting. Thought about getting a G35. Any thoughts on a G35 v. a G24C? (I shoot in a Action Pistol League and mostly for fun otherwise).

    Taurus 1911 38 super

CDNN has a Taurus 1911 38 super for $399. I am so tempted to buy it and start reloading 38 super. Anyone shoot this gun and have any feedback on either the gun or 38 super ammo?

    Kel-Tec P-3AT question

I picked up a P3AT a few months ago and was having trouble with FTEs. Seemed like every 2-3 shots I'd have a FTE. Tried different rounds and gave up. I decided to look at the Instruction book today....lo and behold when I read the disassembly instructions I realized I might be missing the...

    How many of one make?

I was reading the HK website and someone mentioned they had 15 HKs. I have 5 Glocks - G17, G21, G22 (2) and a G26. How many guns from one manufacturer do you have? What is the manufacturer?

    Release after pulling trigger

I tried googling this but did not find an answer. I shoot a Glock G17 in an Action Pistol League. Just started about 7 months ago which is also about how long I've been shooting a pistol. Question: after pulling the trigger how are you supposed to release it? 1. Just let go of the...

Where to buy 38 spl bullets - plated

Any suggestions where to buy 38 spl (prefer 158 gr) bullets that are plated? I shot some lead ones at my range today and they complained that it had too much smoke. TJ Conevera has X-Treme FP Copper Plated ones for $122/1,000 - seems kind of high. Glenn

    Leading in barrel

I shoot lead bullets in my Glock G17. How do you tell if it is leaving excessive lead in the barrel? Can you see the lead color in the barrel? What is the best of cleaning it? with a brush and Hoppe's?

9 mm lead bullets and keyholing

I started to reload lead bullets (Friendswood Bullet Co.) for my wife's SA 9mm and seem to get an occasional keyhole - about 1 in 10 shots (125 gr bullet with 4.4 grains of Bullseye). I've double checked the OAL (1.15") and my factory crimp die (don't believe I'm overcrimping). I do not get any...

XD 45 point of aim question

New shooter question: the XD 45 manual (p.32, Point of Aim) says that the XDs "..are designed to use the '6 o'clock' sight picture at 25 yards. However, some pistols may shoot 'point of aim' at 25 yards depending on shooter and ammunition." 1. Does that mean you aim at 6 o'clock at 25 yards...

    One eye?

I just started shooting in an action pistol league. I've only been shooting my pistol, SA xd .45 ACP, for less than a year. I usually shoot with both eyes open (my scores have sucked). While practice drawing from a holster tonight I tried closing my weak eye while dry firing. Seems like I...

    Pistol storage when not home

Just was reading a thread with references to having a pistol in a nightstand, etc. For those who have a pistol handy in the bedroom - what do you do with it when no one is home? Do you move the weapon to your safe in case your house is broken into and the bad guys can find your weapon? Maybe...

    Front sight/reading glasses

"Human vision being what it is, you can’t focus on the sights and the target at the same time. Actually, you can’t focus on both the front and the rear sight at the same time, either. Once the target has been identified as something you need to shoot, you no longer need your primary visual focus...
