Hey thanks Guys
Yep those are the grips and the info on the other grips answers what I have seen elsewhere, was going to post a pic but it was late when i put up the post.
good to know the year at least its a first year 1982, Where did you find the cross reference if you don't mind me asking...
Just Traded for a very minty Mk V Trooper, Have tried to find serial #date list somewhere with no luck. I know the history of the MKIII and MkV So it has to be 1980-85 maybe 86 and not sure these are the grips that came on it. They are colt grips walnut or rose wood maybe, but have seen two on...
I will Answer in order, but I want to say thank you in advance to all.
yes shooting from shoulder as normal
According to browning moving the friction ring from the top of the recoil spring to the bottom of the spring with the flat side of the ring against the spring will change recoil from...
Not an A5 Expert by any means but have always wanted one and I found what I thought I wanted Belgium LT 12, till I shot it, it will not eject or load next shell.
I tried changing from heavy to light loads by repositioning the friction ring even read that adding a light film of oil to receiver...

Ok I read them all and It looks like I lit a spark for a good discussion.
I will stick with the 30-06 till I learn different or get out shot by something better. Both the 30-06 and 308 seem to have there positives and negatives. I thank you all for your input and I got the answer I was looking...
Just bought another 30-06, got to thinking I have never really shot this caliber for anything long distance. Have always bought 30-06 for its versatility and I know there are great long distance rounds that competition shooters would use
But how does the 30-06 stand up.
and a tag question...
Nope 6 thru the 1873 and 5 thru the GP100, as listed on the paper. Standing Hand held not from bench. Wife was throwing out a 4" round candle, I though this is going to be a good target, so I sat it on the target post and the gp just skimmed it knocking it off, so that was the 6th shot for the...
It makes me cringe when I hear of and accident involving a child and a gun. And as I'm sure everyone reading this you feel the same. Just down the road from us a very young child { two I think } pulled the trigger on a pistol in a night stand, killing his older sister {6 i think}. Every time I...
1873 Uberti Cattleman El Patron in 357
Ok here my opinion of the Uberti El Patron
I took it down and cleaned it well both getting familar with it and cleaning any factory lube from the barrel etc, maybe not needed but it helped getting my brain around it some.
I shot 50 rounds of 38 sp 125 rn...
It just means that I'd shoot traditional rounds from a traditional design.
I assume you are referring to cowboy Loads or are you referring to 45lc. 44-40
Thanks Everyone
I knew I had come to the right place
Not being a Cowboy Action Shooter, Just an old Cowboy who loves to team rope these days. I love the Old style Cowboy guns. I doubt I will ever run enough ammo thru it to wear it out, maybe who knows I love to shoot as well. This is not a...

Thanks for the Replies
I was referring to the Factory/ off the shelf 357mags. I read somewhere shooting the 357,45lc,& 44-40 A BUNCH thru these reproduction guns would take a heavy toll on them. i.e. cylinder walls being thinner than say Ruger, Springs etc. Maybe it was a Ruger salesman that...
Finally broke down and order a Cattleman EL Patron in 357, have always loved the look and feel of these from Uberti. I order the 357 due to reload supply issues at present time and I have several other's of same caliber and have plenty of ammo. I got to thinking if this cattleman would handle...
In your opinion have these been good collectors, Increased in Value, i.e. the 75th and 150th or does anyone know.
I'm just not one to get rid of Colts, trade yes Colts no.
All guns seem to hold most value depending on care of course, I guess i'm on the fence on trading or keeping. I would hate...
It sounds like the "EL PATRÓN" is a very much upgraded model of the 1873 Cattlemen. LM
