Over my easter break im probably going to have a go at making a stock from a laminate blank. I want to make a prone full bore style stock and then il get a gun smith to inlet the action. I have done a lot of searches without coming up with anything. are there any good sites with good info to...
The recoil lug is glass bedded. Looks like a factory job. I will get a friend to shoot it next weekend who can shoot 590s in small bore and that should confirm if its my error or the rifles.
Its a 223 wssm. The reason I think its a problem with the stock Is I can shoot other rifles including bigger calibers just as well holding them tight. If It is human error what should I do to try and fix this. I cant shoot it in the field without holding it
Stock or action
I found the problem with the rifle. If I shoot It on a sant bag without touching the stock it will shoot under .25 inch. If I allow it to hit my sholder under recoil It goes out to .75 or 1 inch. Would this be caused by something wrong with the stock or maybe something wrong...
Yeh I had the rifle apart but I have tried changing the tension on the screws wuit a bit because the abolts have a stupid tang design and I thought that might be the case. I had it apart quiet a few times while i was doing loads as I was working on the trigger as well and it was still shooting...
I posted a while back about buying a Browning A-bolt. While I was developing loads I was consistantly grouping just over half an inch at 100 with 52 grain sierra match kings. when I got the load right i was getting 5 shot groups at 3/8th of an inch. then I decided I would fill the but of the...
can some1 explain the layout of the moyer trigger for an A-bolt. there are 3 grub screws can some one explain what each one does. is there any reason why I couldnt add the adjustment screws into the original trigger. I think the top one should adjust creep and take up and both the bottom 2 could...
I would consider a cz as long as you dont want to shoot over 55 grain projectiles. the single set trigger is really good. I set up a friends one and it was about 4 ounce when set. straight out of the box with hand loads the laminated varmint will shoot half inch groups
this is the a bolt target http://www.browning.com/products/catalog/firearms/detail.asp?value=001B&cat_id=035&type_id=189 It has a single set trigger and also i notice it also has a Picatinny rail on it. I cant find any where on the net that sells either to fit the a-bolt. any help. browning dont...
For shooting at 200 or past at night I wouldnt go smaller than a 50 front lens. I use 2 rifles at night one an older fixed 8 by 40 leuplod that was the top of the line scope when my father purchased it many years ago and a 4 to 16 by 50 mark optics scope that was about 180. in the spot light at...
With a heavy barrel that shouldnt need a pressure point I dont see why more isnt better. if there is a large gap hte barrel cant possibly hit the stock. I without tooting my own horn I would say my marksmanship is quiet high off the bench I would say i could out shoot all 4 rifle I have In the...
I do hand loads for all my rifles. what jb weld do you use as I wasnt happy with the last epoxy I used. the only one I could fid is this http://jbweld.net/products/jbweld.php and it doesnt seem like a lot. I have done quiet a lot of research on piller bedding a rifle but every thing I can find...
Ok thanks for the replys guys. I was going to have a 22 250 custom made on a sako action next year but I just came across an almost new browning a bolt varmint in .223 WSSM that has only fired a handful of shot and was probably a quater of the cost of getting a 250 built. The stock is just a...
Iv been searching for about the last 5 hours actually. I probably know quiet a few but it would be good for people to put ideas all in the one place to make it easy, then the next time some1 does a search they wont have to spend 5 hours searching not to learn much and then to be told to do what...
