close but not =quite the same

Forgot the Lyman image was copyrighted, removed it.
Don't want to get myself or THR in trouble.
Drawings available for free download from SAAMI but also copyrighted so I didn't post them.
Lots of rifle chamber/cartridge info .pdf download here
https://saami.org/technical-information/cartridge-chamber-drawings/

Sorry Patocazador and Nature Boy, you may want to remove the like

Why? The post and point was valid. The drawings just helped to show it better.

I had my XP-100 in .35 Rem. re-chambered to .358 Win. You are right. they are not the same.
my dad had the same gun with the same rechamber i loved that thing it had the nice green composite stock on it i think hs made the for remingtion. i dreamed of putting it in a rifle stock for brush hunting.

The Lyman picture was copyrighted, did not want there to be an issue with THR (or myself) possibly violating the copyright if Lyman wanted to be a pain.
Was going to post the SAAMi cartridge and chamber drawings but they are copyrighted as well which is why I just put the link in.

And yes the picture made it much clearer.

As far as reloading dies I think it's safe to say that "close enough for jazz" won't cut it. A few thousandths here or there and plus or minus a few degrees on the shoulder and things just won't go well for you.

Saami is copyrighted:thumbdown:, see page 4 of the .pdf rifle document. (pdf page not document page number)
You can download the .pdf but it looks like snipping from it and re-posting is not allowed without permission.

I looked to be sure.
