I bet it would work pretty well provided that you use a super low viscosity resin or epoxy so that it would wet out.Well, heck, Sam...there's one we haven't tried!
Currency paper is fairly tough stuff. It is interesting how mechanical strength and wear resistance varies with the substrate that is used.
What is really fascinating is to do some comparative strength tests between a known "tough" long threaded fabric like canvas or denim and a felted wool.
The wool will soak up several times the amount of resin or epoxy that the other fabrics will but will fail at much lower loads that other fabrics, ballpark of walnut or similar grained hardwoods.
Y'know, Buck has been using Paperstone countertop material in some of their recent folders....I wonder what the source for their "post-consumer" paper is?
