Well, heck, Sam...there's one we haven't tried!
I bet it would work pretty well provided that you use a super low viscosity resin or epoxy so that it would wet out.
Currency paper is fairly tough stuff. It is interesting how mechanical strength and wear resistance varies with the substrate that is used.
What is really fascinating is to do some comparative strength tests between a known "tough" long threaded fabric like canvas or denim and a felted wool.
The wool will soak up several times the amount of resin or epoxy that the other fabrics will but will fail at much lower loads that other fabrics, ballpark of walnut or similar grained hardwoods.

Y'know, Buck has been using Paperstone countertop material in some of their recent folders....I wonder what the source for their "post-consumer" paper is?

Even if I had that the income to not notice the purchase price I wouldn't buy the thing, but then I know what a proper katana should be.

And, YES, there are people that can afford it who lack the knowledge to understand what they're purchasing (but we can't all be blade geeks, can we).

BTW, micarta makes for a lousy drinking cup material.
Every Uber-wastrel knows you cast them in lucite so you can see them!

For that kinda scratch, I hope they throw in a few ninja stars!
