10/22 Survival Plinker

Well, I ended up getting one.... for 20$ new from cabelas. Yes, I was very happy, only regret. I didn't buy 2 :p
One question though, the pin that holds the back of the stock to the middle keeps sliding out of place but when i tighten it i cant operate the folding capability...(Problem solved, Had to tighten it while it was not in the locked position)
Anyways I have several ideas about turning it into a "survival/plinker.
First off Ive wrapped it in parachord in various places to improve functionality and looks. But thats all that has been done so far. I have an idea to use the space between the buttpad and the arm of the stock to store a factory magazine for those "just in case" time when your mag fails you. So far the quickest securest way is 2 pieces of electrical tape.(works very well but also will leave a sticky mess over time) Another idea is that i could use one of those factory magazine couplers and half it and affix it to the but stock. dunno?
I have already attached a sling I made out of a leather belt that had fake bullets in it(hmmm amazing a .22 is exactly the same size:rolleyes:. It holds 46 rnds on it.
Its has a 4x40 scope on a weaver rail with a sun/rain cover I made for the rear which helps with quick target acquisition via knowing proper eye relief. Not to mention the ultra snazzy ability to clock sunlight from blinding you!

One key feature of this stock is its in the grip storage compartment. Which is covered by rubber so Id assume water proof-ish. I have 2 ideas for it.( In need of stocking help)
One being using it for tools and other various maintenance accessories for in the event of mid-outdoors malfunction.(so far, Tool to tighten stock, small screwdriver, small rod for a punch, graphite lube/oil,extra bolt buffer, open to more ideas) Or in alternative 50rnds of ammo.
Two being used to store a small survival kit.(Mini-compass,matches,flint, hook/line, needle/thread, small knife, need more ideas)
Any ideas on what would be good stuff to ram into its compartment?

Any thoughts or recommendations welcome and encouraged.
Will get pictures up ASAP, pending getting my camera from someone.(should tommaro or so)

Pictures of the parachord wrappings, painted mags, general look, and the compartment. Notice the 2 to bottom picture? Thats what i mean by optional magazine storage for a backup. Hopefully these pictures will help people help me with ideas :(

Excuse the soviet flag(makes a good background without the sickle and hammer showing)

Cut out two pieces of smoked plexi glass for the butt stock. Put screws through with thumb nuts. Nice little storage compartment.

Not to bad of an idea, that would hold many small things. Could put a full field stripping kit in there. Thanks
