Shot a friends 10/22 over the weekend. Had alot of fun!

I'd like to get me a synthetic stock 10/22 with the stainless barrel. What is the best going price on one of these?

Also, where is the best place to get larger capacity magazines for a 10/22? What brand magazines work best?

Thanks

Thanks that website is exactly what I am looking for.

Anything else I should know before I look for a synthetic stock, stainless barreled 10/22?

You ought to consider your needs before purchasing. Are you going to want to keep a lightweight (sporter) barrel or do you want a heavier (afermarket .920) bull barrel? Etc., etc....

10/22's are addictive and the aftermarket stuff available for them is really something. I started out with a standard 10/22 carbine that I got at Wal-Mart. The only pieces left after all of the mods I've done are the receiver, bolt, trigger guard and most of the trigger components.

Hot Lips makes some higher capacity mags and they should be available thru the various internet sources.

If you are going to buy a 10/22 with the thought of adding some custom parts, get the cheapest one you can find. Don't go with the stainless version as the 10/22 "blued" model just has black powdercoating on the aluminum receiver. You can strip that paint off and create a polished finish or a satin finish.

Absolutely true. Why buy a $250 (or more) Ruger 10/22 when you'll replace all of the 'features' that set it apart from the $140 version?

I think that walmart still has the best price in the country on your basic 10/22 package. Definatly check there first.

I think the only things I would add to the 10/22 I am consdiering buying (synthetic stock/stainless barrel) are a bipod, full capacity mag, and a scope.

Get a synthetic stock with a front sling swivel mount and attach a bi-pod on that. Quite a number of bi-pod manufacturers that make pods that attach there.

Full capacity on a 10/22 is 10 rounds. Extended or hi-cap is more.

Sure it starts off innocent at first........but then you end up with something like this.
