10/22 single shot

I installed a Volquartsen hammer in a 10/22 and now it will not cycle using CCI mini mags. I have to manually cycle the bolt to fire the second shot. What did I do wrong?

Did you change anything other than the hammer and did it work before with the same ammunition?

It appears the 'kit' includes new spring's, shims, and bushings?

If you put all that in at once, without testing for function one part at a time??

Take it all out and do a do-over, one thing at a time until you can narrow it down.

The problem turned out to be the spring in the magazine being adjusted to weak to push the next shell up in time to be pushed into battery.

CZguy - from what you said, it sounds like hyper-function.

I wanted to document what the problem was for when this problem crops up again. It was a weak spring in the magazine! It was a fluke for a new fctory magazine to come improperly adjusted, but it can happen. And is a easy fix.
