This round was in a loosely packed box I just received in the mail. It's a 200gr XTP that should do 1200 fps. Hard to know if it suffered this damage from packaging or shipping, but nonetheless, is this something the manufacturer should be aware of? I was surprised the rounds were loose in cardboard boxes and not in a container designed to hold them better.

I would tell the manufacturer. Unless you see and obvious problem with the box that they arrived in then that one slipped through QC at the factory.

    Who is the manufacturer?

    I'm betting its BVAC ammo.

To be honest, if it were one of my reloads I wouldn't worry about it unless I was doing max loads.

    Update:
I sent a picture to the manufacturer and they responded that it should not have gotten through QC, and better safe than sorry, don't shoot it, they'll send me a "handful" to replace it.
Great customer service in my opinion!
