Springfield discontinued all the 10mm XDs? Am I reading this right?

If there were a better 10mm than Glock and it wasn't a 1911 or made by Springfield, I'd have gotten it.

I’d of said the same thing until I purchased the XDM Elite 3.8. Tried the XDM 5.25 and hated it so I was reluctant to try the Elite. Glad I did! It may have retired my G20.

While no doubt "cool-guy" trendy, the use of micro RDSs on pistols for self-defense is overrated.

At the average distances you'd deploy a pistol for immediate personal defense (typical a semi-auto), these devices are unnecessary for accurate shot-placement on a bad guy's vitals as long as you've practice regularly with your carry piece.

Now for hunting or target work, that's different. In those situations the typical shooting distances will be, or could be, longer and the precision "upgrade" to the sight-picture imparted by the RDS is worth it. So on a Glock 40 intended for, say, deer hunting, an RDS makes sense.

I have been using micro red dot on my guns and years, also been using iron for years. And, when you co-witnesses your reddot with irons on a moving target…. AMAZING

It’s like a game of chase, reddot goes left/right/up/down and the irons will follow naturally

on a get use to reddot for new users. Sign up for a local USPSA match. It’s fun and give you a real world use of your reddot of and gear. People are very friendly, just let them know it’s your 1st time.

There's probably an XDM 10 Elite in the works. They just redesigned the compacts, the full size is probably next.

Not sure if it's available with a RDS mount, but were I in the market for a new 10mm I would be all over the P220 Legion 10mm, long barrel, SAO. I've owned Glocks before, but have zero interest in them now.

They came out with the XDM 9mm Elite w/ the new trigger, than the 10mm compact. I'm just thinking they'll have a 10mm Elite full size eventually.

The OP mentions scaring deer with his revolver, which might lead me to believe he'd like to hunt with a new 10mm semi. We have a 5" minimum barrel length for handgun hunting deer in OH.

So, what's the intended use for a new 10mm?
