Just picked up a mint S&W 1026 (5in version of the 1076 FBI weapon) 10mm at a show last week. Been working so much, I just last night began to look at it closely. It looks unfired with no wear, almost NIB condition. If it wasn't for the slightly dirty white followers in the mags I would say it was unfired but because of the unburnt powder, I'm sure it was fired although hardly at all. Picked it up for $450.00 with three mags. I think this was a screaming deal !!!! Had a few questions about the decocker Smiths.
1. How rare is the 1026? I've never seen one (which doesn't mean anything) but I thought they didn't make many or weren't popular. Are they rare enough not to shoot?
2. How durable are the 10mm Smiths? Were they discontinued for lack of durability?
3. The gun came with three white follower mags. I remembered some follower colors are better than others. I've seen yellow followers in S&W tens. Are they better?
4. Was there a recall on these decocker models a while back? Or am I confusing the FBI recalling their 1076's because of a decocker problem?
5. Anything special about the decocker models that I should know about? You hardly see them around in shops (used section).
