I have a 16 gauge 11-48. Was doing a really good cleaning, including the magazine tube. Once everything is back together, it now doesn't work right. When I work the action to load a shell from the magazine into the chamber, sends every shell in the tube at once.

So I bought a new shell latch (the one on the right if looking from top). Didn't change a thing. I took the pin out of the carrier latch and cleaned it all really well, didn't do anything. Not sure what else to try, hoping someone out there has seen this before?

I've attached a picture. My poor snap caps!

The latch is on the correct side. The opposite side holds the carrier latch, a different part but it functions as a kind of shell latch.

Shell stop/latch isn't working. Let me see if I can find a diagram to study it.

That would be the carrier latch. You have your view orientation upside down, and are looking into the receiver from the bottom. As viewed from the bottom of the receiver, the shell latch would be on the right. The ejection port is on the RH side when the gun is oriented normally, and the carrier latch is just below it.

Now that we have that solved, did you get the shell latch specifically for 16 gauge that is made for the deep well receiver? (The 20 ga. latch is also, the 12 ga. isn't.) If not, it will do exactly what your gun shows in the pic in post #1. Solution? Get the correct part and install it.

Numrich is out, but here's the page anyway:
