Hi all,

I just noticed that the prettiest 11-87, the Premier, is no longer on the Remington website.

Does anyone have any insight into its status? I'd hate to think of such a pretty gun discontinued.

They are being phased out by the 1100 G3's. Basically an evolution of the 11-87 (itself an evolution of the original 1100).

AFAIK, they're replacing it with two models, the 1100 G3, and the 105CTi, both of which will shoot light or heavy loads, 2 3/4" or 3" shells.

Both are pretty, and both are a good deal more "high tech" than a Premier -- and more expensive. The 1100 G3 has upgraded internal and external finishes, overbored barrel, etc., and the 105 is a completely different gun that uses Titanium and Carbon fiber for the receiver, and Carbon fiber for the rib.

I've shot a 105, and I want one, at least when it's not a brand-new product. It's as light as a 20, it loads a lot quicker than an 1100 or 11-87, and it drops hulls in front of you rather than somewhere in the bushes or right in the face of the next guy at the range.

That said, I lament the loss of the 11-87 Upland Special. I was thinking of buying a 20 for next season, but I'm a bit broke at the moment.
