124 grain copper plated for 9MM?

Hi, all. I'm trying to find load data for the Rainier 124 grain copper plated bullet for 9MM using Winchester 231 powder.
Thanks for any recommendations.

Got Load Books?

Start at 4.0 and work up carefully. I suggest not exceeding 4.4 Grs, but don't even go there if it does not look like you should.

Not really, but I copied them for future reference. I was hoping some of the guys here had worked up some loads. I just want to use up the 231 I have because it's been around awhile. I can use it on 357 magnum and 45 ACP that I need to load eventually.

What Walkalong said. Though I have loaded 124 grain Rainier Hollow points up to 4.8 grains of W-231. the rule still stands. Keep them under 1200 fps. My favorite load is 4.7 grains which gives me 1050 to 1075 fps from a 3.39" barrel.

I used some berrys 124 gn fp plated bullets and used 4.1 gns of win231. Worked well.

I just popped off 100 of these yesterday....
accuracy seemed quite good....
recoil felt like a normal "full power" 9mm load, not really anything "hot".

124 gr. Berry's DS plated RN
Win brass
Win sm. std. pistol primer
4.5 gr. of W231

yes... I broke the rules and I started with Lee's published max. load, but other manuals allow for significantly hotter loads with 124 gr. bullets and I had a couple recommendations for this combo. so I gave it a whirl.

no troubles.... no overpressure signs.... seemed just as accurate if not more so than my factory loads I was using up.

If you have load data for 124 grain lead bullets use that otherwise go with 90 percent of the recommended 124 grain FMJ start load and work your way up to what you find suitable.
