12ga shotgun vs. 2 boats of Pirates

Could someone fix up some of the old USNavy (WWII-vintage) PT boats to look like pleasure craft?

I always thought that the 40MM Bofors Canon and some MK-III torpedos would work well against the pirates.....

maybe "Cargo Container" vessels with a few "Containers" here-n-there on the decks that have 'quick-drop' sides that actually contain the quad-mount Bofors cannons?

Breaking news re pirates attacking the u.s.navy directly.

(The question is, "Why capture and take prisoners of armed pirates?" Why not blow their armed skiff out from under them and let the "survivors" swim home? They have zero intelligence-value and are disposable. No witnesses, no harm reported, no foul can be claimed. SEE NEWS REPORT BELOW: )

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates – The U.S. Navy is holding six suspected pirates after a sea battle off the Horn of Africa. It's the third U.S. Navy encounter with pirates in the past 10 days in the violence-plagued waters off Somalia and nearby regions. At least 21 suspected pirates have been captured. The U.S. Navy says suspected pirates began shooting at the amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland Saturday, about 380 miles off Djibouti, a small nation facing Yemen across the mouth of the Red Sea. The Navy says the Ashland returned fire and the suspected pirate skiff was destroyed. ( !! Sure hope they rlease that video soon !!) All six people on board were rescued and taken aboard the Ashland. The Ashland suffered no injuries or damage.
