Has anyone had time to load for this new round yet? The local gun shop got got 2 new Savage rifles in ands he kept one and showed me a couple nice groups he shot with his. A lot less noise and very close to balistics of my 22-250 out to about 300 yards. The only problem I can see is the little bullet and old fat fingers if I decide on this new round.

Yes, 17 caliber bullets are itty bitty but reloading a 17 caliber is manageable. I reload 17 Remington and I just slow down a bit when setting the bullet on the case for seating.

I do not have any experience with 17 Hornet, but it should a good round.

I passed on a beauty of a 17 Remington last year because I thought my sometimes pretty arthritic fingers would be tough to deal with.
    Regret it now.
That new little Hornady 17 Hornet sounds like it would be a fun one.
