18 Round Magazine for Glock 44

I have found that the more I use them, the better they work.

I get a nose dive out of one of the first three rounds. Crams the round into the feed ramp. Then either sticks that way or gives a stovepipe. . I tried yesterday. Two mags same problem. Still not a jam out of the factory mags. And not a jam out of the last 15 in the promags.

I left them both loaded yesterday though so we will see. Maybe friday

I agree that the more the 18-round ProMags get used, the better they seem to perform. Meanwhile, the two best assists I have found are :

(1) Only load 15 rounds. That’s still 66% more than 10, and it seems to be a good balance for the spring tension.

(2) After loading, hold the mag upside-down, lightly release a bit of spring tension, and give the mag a couple of quick shakes. This helps to correctly orient the critical first round and avoid a “nose-dive” position.

Although it’s annoying to have to make these (or any) adjustments, the upside is, of course, higher-capacity mags at a reasonable price.

On pro-mags in general:

I have (7) 17 round pro-mags for the Ruger SR9 that I use in my Ruger PC Carbine for steel challenge. They came coated inside and out with some kind of preservative grease. I cleaned them throughly before using and while I had them apart smoothed out any rough spots inside the mag body and on the follower. They have worked fine for me.

They were available when I couldn't find OEM mags and 1/2 the cost.

You should not have to work on brand new mags, but they have been 100% reliable for me. I have used pro-mags for other guns with success also. I guess I'm lucky.
