Fired from my .300 Win Mag at 45 yards. Basically vaporized the first 1 gallon jug, exploded the next two and made a hole into the 4th where the bullet stopped. The jacket and core seperated, but I'm guessing at 100yds, the bullet may have held together. Was just doing a fun experiment, and thought I would share the pic of the bullet. I'm going to try it again with my handloads and a Nosler Partition and see how it does.

At that range, going that fast, let it separate. Four projectiles instead of one, deliciously devastating.

Funny, a solid point, hi vel 22lr round will penetrate just as much, with just a bit of expansion...

And, of course, transferred about 1/15 of the energy to the target....

I wasnt trying to start a debate about penetration. Just wanted to see if the bullet would hold together.

Hey, Tang. In my long experience of shooting water jugs, the plastic of the jug is what separates the jacket. I say this because I've also shot ziplock baggies full of water and the jacket doesn't separate for the same depth of penetration.

Make a comparison. Line up a bunch of ziplock baggies as one target, and a line of plastic milk jugs as another. Compare the bullets.

[Note: Because the plastic of the baggie doesn't affect the bullet very much, the bullet will penetrate much farther. It takes twice as many baggies compared to milk jugs.]
