I have a brass frame 1851 with the seriel number 1624 stamped and cs stamped on the bottom of the mainspring housing with no other markings. can anoyone tell me anything about it, it doesn't even say black powder only on the barrel?

With no markings, most likely a kit gun, but maybe you already knew that.

I picked it up a year ago, I bought it because I liked the aged look and figured it would be a cool wall hanger. It being a kit gun is the only thing that makes any sense especially without a maker mark.

Are there any signs of it being filed or sanded where someone could have removed all of the beautiful modern warnings and what not's? I have considered this for mine but haven't taken the plunge.
