My Uberti 1860 is in rough shape. The arbor shot loose and the endshake is wide enough to see through like a sight. The barrel wiggles back and forth with the wedge fully seated. Can anyone retighten the arbor, correct its length, reinstall the loose loading lever catch, and slick it up? It could be a great shooter with the right work. I got it to 4” groups at 20 yards before it shot loose.

what pic? If it's a brass frame I'd hang it on the wall.
It’s a steel frame. I had previously tightened the arbor, but it worked loose again. Could end up a wallhanger, but it’s worth the trouble to see if it can be fixed up. There’s no guarantee the replacement I buy won’t be a piece of work in its own right.

From what I can find CVA imported ASM, Uberti and Euroarms.

I knew ASM and Euroarms. Also Spesco. Was not aware they brought in Uberti, thought Uberti was above their price point.

I did like the little Mountain Rifle they imported. No idea who made that for them.

CVA sold Spesco? Spesco was an importer.

Thanks to all who mentioned me! My experiences with CVA stuff has been mostly ASM. Quality has been mostly pretty good but I personally own one that's not so good. Those mountain rifles mentioned above I believe came from Eibar or something like that in Spain. They were middle of the road quaility but shoot accurately. The cap guns have this really long bolster that the nipple mounts on that threads all the through the breechplug almost to the opposite side. It has to be removed before any attempt to remove the breechplug is tried. Not sure what the thinking was on that one.
