Has anyone ever heard of a nice little kit for a 1911 to convert to 9mm? Sure, there are parts to change out, but nothing I don't think I would be able to handle. I figured they make .22 LR kits, why not 9mm?

If there are not pre-made kits, can I get a list of parts and sources?

Oops, forgot one thing, all the 9mm barrels I have seen are ramped, so that kind of prevents it from dropping into the CD frame, unless I cut the frame in the right place...

Conversions have been covered a number of times, it is not as simple as dropping on a new barrel or even a whole top end. The ejector must be changed, slide stop changed, magazine changed and in non-ramped 1911's the frame feed ramp may be incompatible with cartridges smaller than 45 caliber.

My conversion kit for my .45's is a Dillion 550B.

    Load down .45 to 9mm levels :D

If you want a 9mm 1911 why don't you just spend $150 or so and buy one of the surplus Star BMs that are available now. They are an excellent value for the money. I bought one specifically to be able to shoot inexpensive 9mm ammo. So far it has been 100%.

Well, that was why I bought an Arcus 94, but it hasn't seen much use. If it ain't a 1911, it ain't a 1911.

I am getting a conversion barrel for my Glock 22 though, so that should satisfy me for a little while. :D
