Hi guys, love the forum- in the manual to my *brand new* SA Mil-Spec, there are specific instructions 'not' to use a .22lr conv. kit, anyone got any thoughts on this?

thanks,

My ciener Platinum runs great too, on an STI Spartan frame (great gun as well) Spartan is about $550 and Ciener $250.

Re: Ramped barrel frames, might try getting the little "adapter" Mech Tech sells for using their carbine conversions on Para wide bodies. Don't see why it wouldn't work with a .22 conversion unit.

As to them, I've several floating around. A Ciener that gave me nothing but grief until I rebuilt it, than had the firing pin break... grumble, grumble... Yea, their CS stinks, even to their dealers. Have a EAA unit for the small frame P9/Witness units that works, after a fashion and an AA unit for mid size Glocks. All work, some better than others, none are what I call "accurate", but than I'm used to high end .22's for target competition, and the greater precision their higher price entails. I try to keep that in mind while "scaring" the targets... VBG

What ever you decide, think about a seperate frame. Lighter recoil springs and hammer springs can make them much less picky about what WallyWorld has on sale this week. And some frames are cheap enough not to break the bank...
