I like the look of it, but I'd be worried about my nice 1911 rubbing against the rivets on the inside of my pants.

I think the 1911 carries better than anything else with the Clip Draw. There may be better methods but for me, I get in and out of the truck a lot and sometime wear a tool belt so the ClipDraw or paddle holster are my choices.

About 30 yrs ago I had a Clipdraw on my 1911 which I carried off duty. Back then they were made by Browne & Pharr. A few years after B&P went out of business then Clipdraw started making them. It worked pretty well. It rode close enough to the gun that it didn't interfere with the holster for when carrying in a holster. I liked it on the 1911 a lot more than I like the Clipdraw on a J frame. If I were to go back carrying a 1911 I'd put the B&P on it.

I don't have experience with the 1911 Clip Draw, but I love mine on my Glock. No I don't carry it chambered when I use it, but it doesn't interfere with my holster. It's a nice way to tuck it in my pants when I might want to have one on me, but can't/don't want to mess with a holster.

I would've thought that a 1911 would be way too heavy for that one little clip, but I'm guessing from some of these posts that that's not the case?

I haven't used one on a 1911 yet, but have used them on Glocks and a Bersa 380cc. I think they fill a need and do a good job when carrying while driving.
