1911 frame ramp insert gunsmith

Who is the go-to gunsmith for installation of 1911 frame ramp inserts?

If I had to pick good, fast, or cheap I'll go with good and fast

I have a Colt LW Commander XSE that's valuable enough as a shooter to put the extra money in it.

Jim Milks http://www.innovativecustomguns.com/ He used to work for EGW who makes the ramp insert. Jim then decided to branch out on his own.

Have you considered a fully ramped barrel. I put one in a Gold Cup years ago and it has been great. Feeds anything.

I saw the Innovative Custom Guns site and may go that route since he's probably got the most experience with the inserts.

I haven't considered the ramped barrel approach because of the cost and because 1911Tuner doesn't seem to be a fan.

The fully ramped barrel works well for the smaller calibers, but the 45 doesn't derive much, if any, benefit from one.

My understanding is that the 'alternative' chamberings actually benefit from changes in feed ramp angle. A ramped barrel can provide that, but a 'in dimension' ramp with a steel insert cannot. Hence, my 9mm and 40S&W and 10mm 1911s get ramped barrels and my 45ACP non-steel-framed 1911's get steel ramped inserts.
