1911 Holster Question/Suggestions

Ok, I have a mountain of holsters for my 1911s however I still haven't found one I am comfortable carrying every day. That 39 ounce monster is tough. I would like a comfortable strong side with a slight forward cant. Comfortable being the most important. Any ideas?
 
I like the Tucker Gunleather "Texas Heritage" model for heavier pistols, assuming you want IWB. What other holsters have you tried so people will know not to recommend those to you?

I had this guy make me a couple holster for my 1911. He did a great job, the tunr around time was great, and the prices were more than fair for a cusotm holster maker. Ive had mine for over a year and they look as good as the day I got them. the work is great and the service was just as good. I recommend him to anyone who asks me about holsters.
 
What belt do you have? My g/f got me a nice 1 3/4" gun belt for my birthday and you wouldn't believe what a difference it makes. I barely feel my P95 on this belt in a Bianchi hip holster.
 
In my case, comfort has a lot to do with the belt. It needs to be stiff leather that will hold the holster vertical and not let the gun tip over away from you and press the muzzle into your hip. Also, I find the high ride holsters keep the gun in a more comfortable position for my build. Also, loose fitting pants tend to allow the belt to ride lower on the hips and the gun digs in. Keeping the waistline a little higher with belt cinched up firmly keeps it in place better.
 
I use a blackhawk serpa with a wilderness belt (5 stitch), it's a comfortable option. The belt is as important as the holster.

I see no mention of a belt. The best holster in the world won't do its job if the belt is substandard, i.e., not stiff enough to bear weight.

I carry my all steel Dan WEsson CBOB in the Simply Rugged CUDA and have found it to be quite comfortable. The CUDA can be worn either IWB or OWB depending on your preference.
 
I make these, and they were designed to meet the exact criteria that you outlined. A lot of folks that carry want the same as you. That is why / how i designed this one. Now the hard part about a 100% kydex holster is that they are hard to get where they are comfortable all day long, but this one is just that, and then some. Tuckable loops, and trimmed to be as small top to bottome as possible. This is what I carry daily and this is my biggest seller. Obviously this is not a 1911, however I have made them for many models.

I saw the Firepower Rig on Andrews Leather that JTQ posted and it made me laugh. What would that feel like carrying around all day? I like their styles though and might consider getting one of their Hybrid Saddle styles, but I think that a really good stiff wide belt makes for comfortable carry as much as a good holster that fits your body style. A high ride holster might cut into you if you have a more than modest muffin top.
 
I just finished this one a few days ago. I left the bottom open so I can use it with the Combat Commander or the Gold Cup. I don't carry these much any more but wanted a holster for them when I go shooting.
