    Chuck ...

I can't get over looking at this photo ... beautiful

I have to ask ... is the finish on that stainless gun bead blasted and then the flat section of the slide highly polished?

    Thank's

It is a Universal Truth that every American should own a 1911 and a .357 Magnum wheelgun. Here are my S&W 686 no dash & Ruger SR1911.

Just got her today! Plans are to use it as a base to satisfy my urge to tinker.

I am disappointed with Dan Wesson now..I like / love the bob tails.. but come on, get the grip profile to match the frame. I'm sure they order them in... get your suppliers in line.

Elkhunt.. great guns... sorry to be negative, but man that grip would piss me off.

Does anybody "get" the form & function of the 1911 better than Dan Wesson? Don't think so. Not just the finish, but they resist the urge to emblazon the slide with pretentious tacticool buzzwords and other nonsense like default forward cocking serrations.

DW 1911s just generally bring me the  :D

Thanks Elk.. I was hoping it was the angle of the shot. I was hoping Dan Wesson didn't let one past QA,.. IF.. it was off as much as it looked.

This is my 1989 Colt Government Model .45 ACP, my EDC.

The only changes I've made to it are the Hogue rubber grips, and the Trijicons. I would really, really like to find a stainless arched and checkered MSH with a lanyard loop, but alas, it seems nobody makes one!

    RevolvingGarbage - Awesome EDC.

I too EDC a steel 5" 1911, S&W though. I've shot just about everything, own many, and it's what I shoot best. Comfy to carry too, when sitting down I wouldn't know it's there, but of course it is :D. It's (or should be?) no secret that a good holster and belt make weight no factor in comfy carrying.

Chuck, have you ever put out a 1911 with a clean slide (no serrations or machining), just for the cosmetic look that it has? I think a totally stripped down slide and frame, polished bright blue or stainless (like the melted down Clark gun we see now and then here) would be a knock out. I think clean slides, with no rollmarks, printing, or serrations could be had from Caspian on order, no? I love your machining and fine detail, but a sleek, rounded gun would have a look all it's own.

That blacked out 1911 is perfect.
